Moving T1-Z to T2-D
Flying into FRA tomorrow from the US. Arriving T1-Z on UA. Hopefully not for a bus gate arrival, fingers crossed (only had 1/20 bus arrival on UA).
Normally I’m doing the easy transfer to *A schengen in T1A...but this time I have a separate ticket on a Finnnair flight out of T2D. I’ve never actually been to FRA T2 in all my years.
it seems on arrival I clear customs (I have the biometric registration for the fast lanes) and board the Skyline airtrain. Seems easy enough, just never done it.
part that is unclear...can I board airside (and schengen -side)...and then exit the skyline in T2D still airside (secure) and in schengen and go straight to the gate? Or is there any extra security still just from boarding the train?
ive got 1:30 to connect, assuming arrival is on-time.

The Skyline is “unclean” whether you ride in the Schengen or non-Schengen carriage. Security in T2 is by the gate in any case. Directions on FRA Airport app suggest you go through passport control (I assume this is what you mean by ‘customs’) on arrival in T2 if you are flying to a Schengen destination.
In any case need to pass security.
One can go on a train from "Germany" or "Transit" side, but I don't see that much of a difference between passing immigration in T1 or T2.

If the flight arrives an hour late (a moderately worst case scenario), is either 30 or 40 mins doable? In such a late arrival case (or worse) in J (and departure in J on same PNR), will LH do anything to expedite other than using fast track security?

However the good news is yesterday and today at least LH901 arrived at AEUW which is a bus gate at the bottom of A/Z which allows passengers to enter the terminal behind security. If you arrive at AEUW you can just go upstairs to Z without having to clear security (or passport control).

Thanks for the report and the photo. This was mentioned at least a couple of times upthread (posts 4592 and 4921) but it sounded like a temporary arrangement. Was there any indication how often the bus operated and at what time of the day?

MCT for this connection is 0:45, so it's a legal but extremely tight connection. Unless your flight into FRA is scheduled to arrive early I would expect to be rebooked to a later flight FRA-WAW if you happen to misconnect in FRA. The next flights to WAW leave at 10:35 (LO) and 12:25 (LH) [I just checked the schedule for this upcoming Monday].

Very tight but not necessarily impossible & you should be rebooked to next flight if it fails.

I think LO is very often a bus. I've seen the flight a number of times in FRA and it was at a remote stand, or in Lufthansa speak "outside position".

Hello there,
Please how long will take a transfer from Schengen A gates to C gates at FRA? Arriving from Prague by Lufthansa (assuming a bus gate in Pier A) and connecting to an intercontinental flight to Muscat by Oman Air (as a Lufthansa partner assuming gates C13-16)?
How long will take a passport control and security check?
