Flying LH J class SEA-FRA . I have 65 minutes, if the plane arrives at the gate on time, to get to connect to a LH flight to ZRH which normally departs A pier/gates of Terminal 1. Unfortunately I have noticed LH491 arrival times to be an average of 15 minutes late, so this reduces the connection time to 50 minutes. I am a US passport holder. Of course there is zero consistency on arrival gates/piers, and a remote stand can happen. I am seated lower deck near exit and will be ready to make a sprint. The Frankfurt Airport website on transfers does not help to understand just what it takes to make a connecting Non-Schengen to Schengen flight. My flights are one airline, one ticket. There are later LH connections if I miss it. Questions: 1. If we're running late on arrival, will LH have a rep at the gate to actually assist/expedite to get to the connecting flight, or to merely tell me the obvious that I'm running late? 2. Does the A pier/gate border control point have a Fast Track lane? 3. Will there be a security check before or after the border control point at the A pier? Finally, I understand - if correct - that I will go through customs at ZRH. Thank you in advance for your reply.

LH will not assist you in the connection, no fast track at transfer immigration.
Your arriving clean from USA so there should be no transfer security.
Just make your way as quickly as you can, between LH & LX there are flights every hour between FRA & ZRH.

Thank you very much. I'm just hoping 491 arrives at Z gate, clear immigration in Z, take elevator down to A, or do immigration at A. Finally, if the ZRH flight happens to depart from B gates then I will still take elevator to A and then TUNNEL to B as it is the quickest with no additional security check point between the two piers? A friend used to fly on LH491 regularly and complained it always left SEA late and arrived in FRA late.

If I recall, to get from AEUW to A-Schengen, you go up to Z and then down through passport control, right?

From AEUW you go up to A level and then you get to the same passport control that you would reach if you’d come down the escalators from Z. No need to go two levels up to Z and then down one. After the passport control you turn left and enter the shopping mall that also has airplane boarding, commonly know as A.

I don't believe so. The only time I arrived at AEUW I was connecting to A-Schengen and did not have to go up to Z level to go through passport control. As far as I know passport control is on the same level as A gates.

LH441 from IAH typically seems to land at C14 or C15... what is the fastest way to connect to an A gate? Thanks.

Much like the FAs on my delayed flight last week telling connecting passengers to run as fast as they could to make their HND flight. These poor souls were asked to run from A28 or something like that to Z69. That’s a long sprint...
Usual great benefit of HON: i had a car to take me directly to my connection, which had started boarding 20 Minutes before my flight landed. Made the connection, not so sure about the HND pax, though they were probably rebooked on the later NH flight.
Like you I would not want to be without my HON support

Hi. Flying YYZ-FRA-SOF on Lufthansa (LH471 ,LH1426). I assume i will be able to do so without having to clear Schengen entry, since Bulgaria hasn't joined yet, is this correct?

Arrive B / depart B
Because of the layout of B concourse it will be necessary to clear transfer security. After leaving the plane find a LH agent and tell him/her you are connecting to LH1426 (assuming it is departing from a B gate on the day). You might be able go through a “secret” door to B departure area without having to clear transfer security.
Arrive Z / depart B
There is no way of avoiding transfer security other than going into and out of Schengen and using the transfer tunnel.
Arrive B / depart Z
I don’t know of any way of avoiding transfer security.
Arrive Z /depart Z
Just walk to the departure gate. No need for security.
