This morning, the security lines before terminal A were very long, but in terminal B they were pretty short. So I asked one of the employees at the beginning of the B security line, whether I could freely walk from Schengen B to Schengen A and he said no. The FRA Airport app said it was possible through a tunnel and this thread seems to concur with the FRA Airport app.
I didn't want to risk it and miss my flight, so I went back to the overflow queue between terminals A and B. But for future travels, can somebody confirm, that you can go through B security and then walk over to A without another security check?

Is the overflow queue you refer to between some shops? I saw it earlier in the year but didn't use it because I couldn't tell how long the queue might be inside. It looked like a temporary arrangement when the usual security queue for A is very long (and it was!).
I didn't take a photo of the actual entrance but it was next to this shop.

Hello all from a newbie to the forum...
I'm trying to estimate transfer time through the Frankfurt airport for tomorrow. With all these weather-induced delays, I might get stuck there...
So, a kind ask to you - please estimate my chances on the tasks, but first the basic info:
- I am arriving on a flight LH6001/OU416 from Zagreb (non-Schengen zone, arrival gate unknown) at 10:45
- I am departing on a flight LH1372 to Wroclaw (Poland, Schengen, gate may be B13 or all the way to A69 - they switch those very often) at 12:55 (boarding 12:25)
- I am departing on a business class flight, and I am a FF with Lufthansa
Questions are:
1. Will I make it - depending on B / A concourse gates change?
2. Will I have any time to visit some lounge to refresh a bit?
3. Will I need to go through the additional security check to visit Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge in Concourse B - if I will need to run to A69 (in case of that unfortunate change)?
Thank you all, please help me to get the most out of those 2 hours at FRA airport

According to lufthansa.com, your flight from Zagreb is currently scheduled to arrive at 10:40 at a bus gate in B (BNS) and the flight to Wroclaw is scheduled to depart from B12. Although gates can change between now and tomorrow this is not one of the worst connections in FRA. Unless your incoming flight is very late two hours should be more than enough for the connection with time to visit a lounge. As you know there is no lounge close to B Schengen gates but if you walk fast you can get to/from the Business Lounge near A13 and B Schengen gates in about 5 minutes. In order to visit the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge you will have to go through an additional security check (transfer security in B on arrival) as you have guessed. It is a nice lounge but I don't think it's worth an additional security check even though you will be able to use a priority lane.

I will hope that my flight won't get "moved" to their usual "backup" gate - A69, and I'll try to make a run for this AC Lounge, in the worst case - I will have to use nearest Lufthansa Business Lounge.
Thank you for your piece of advice, I will report on my quest here when I get to Wroclaw.

Yes, you can. That's one of the ways if arriving in non-Schengen B and connecting to A as I often do. If coming from non-Schengen B you turn sharp left before going completely landside but you join the same queue as passengers entering from the public area. I don't think a scanner can tell if your flight is departing from a Schengen B or A gate and you can walk through the tunnel to A without further security.
Yes, that is the one between the shops. It was a regular security control once and they still retain the installations. At full capacity it has three security lanes. I would estimate that from the point between the shops where you need to scan your boarding pass it would be a 10-15 minute wait if all three security lines are operating. You come out directly next to gate A1. I find it convenient because it is normally much faster than the normal security control for the A terminal.

Ive read the wiki and a few posts, although I have to confess that Im having a hard time understanding the MCT chart.
Anyhow, my questions are:
- Im thinking of going FCO-FRA-DUB-FRA-FCO this coming spring. On the outbound Im getting an 80min connection, but on the return a 50min connection. Should I assume that if LH is selling it, its according to MCT?
- I see the flight from DUB is usually delayed, so that would make it even more difficult, and the flight to FCO is the last one of the day. if I were to miss it, would LH provide lodging and a place on the next available flight?
- It probably wont make any difference, but Id be buying it in biz.
Thanks

As a follow-up on my connection last week. Arrived at Z20 and left out of B33. It took about 20 minutes gate to gate:
- Walk from Z20 to the passport control across Z11 - about 5 minutes
- Pretty long line at passport control for both EU and other countries as the automated gates were not operating. About a 3-minute wait, somebody does show up and opens the automated gates. So I used those, and was through in about 5 minutes
- Walk to and take the elevators between gates A15 and A16 down to the tunnel - about 2 minutes
- Walk through the tunnel - about 5 minutes
- Go through the automated passport gates in B, no line at any of the gates, then to B33 - about 3 minutes

SInce I was already short on time, I have just visited regular Lufthansa lounge and had some food and drinks. It was overcrowded of course, but what can you do?
Thanks for the words of wisdom, bye!

I dont think you lost much. I was in there for the first time last week, and was not impressed. Much more crowded than the LH lounge in the morning around 9

Landside to Z
Question:
From landside to Z gates early morning. Upstairs entry seems to open at 6:30am. Was there a couple of weeks ago on a Monday morning with a line by 6:15am. 6:30am boarding card control opens, and leads to a single outgoing passport control officer, who was alternating calling customers from EU and Non-EU lines. This took 30 minutes to get through. No automated gates open. No security line after that as passport control had metered the flow.
Any better way to do this? "A" entry downstairs was open but backed up halfway in to the first class check in area. Possibly enter at B, tunnel to A and then through passport control up to Z? Or landside train from B to "Travellers only A/Z" station and then do security and passport there on the way to Z? Lounge was already busy when I got there so people must have come from somewhere?
