The question is whether LH is serious about this or whether this is cut a negotiating tactic to get a great deal from Airbus or Boeing.
The Bombardier jet very much depends on P&W making the gearbox of the great turbofan engine work.

Assuming they are on time, this would be the easiest way to get a new model early. The new B737 and A320 will not happen for a long time!
