Neither on longhauls, but that's a different story.

BTW, congrats on your 1K posts!

Never once using UA*G (1P or 1K), but *very* frequently (both European sector and intercontinental) as a SEN a few days ago....

Was once told by a gate agent to choose either my FTL (she said she would be doing them first, before *G) or UA*G for op-ups, I chose UA*G, got to ride in the back!

So you were upgraded to ride in the back? Where were you supposed to be sitting if you weren't upgraded?

I got my first op-up from Y to C today from FRA-BOS. I'm only an FTL (with 70K so far this year -- should make senator in a month or two). Do they prioritize within FTLs on the basis of current status miles?

I don't know but I doubt it. OTOH I had an op-up on the flight which turned me a SEN, then on the next 4 flights (2 x intra Europe, 2 x longhaul) all Y to C. I haven't had any op-up since.

Belated welcome to FT, econprof!

I had several op-ups as a new SEN, but no op-up since. But then I acquired a taste for travelling in C and have started to pay to fly in C when possible. I'll now have to hope for C to F op-ups.

Hmm let me think my last time in long haul Y must have been - wait - in the mid ... of last week . SIN-BKK-FRA-WAW-FRA-BKK-SIN (TG & LO) to be exact and the week before that SIN-FRA-KBP-FRA-SIN (SQ & LH) - also in Y of course. Ahh the pleasures of cost savings

I'm humbled - trust me
