I'm not really getting what the hook on heli transportation is. They "run" about once every hour to 90 minutes and fly all of ten minutes to the city, where you'll then most likely have to get on a cab.
The alternative is to get a limo within five minutes of your exiting the secure area, a limo which will take you straight to anywhere in Manhattan.
Tell me... why would you go for the heli instead of the limo?

What I don't quite get is why a Z-shot or I-pax would pat $210 for using the heli service when they could book the same service for a mere $99 from the chopper company .
Oh I see - it's a linguistic trick: you can only book the service for two days and only if the departure is before 8 pm ! So they will never have to live up to their promise .Are you serious? Asking that question is about as sensible as asking why people do procreate when one could peacefully sit in front of one's TV ...

But as the cycle time of the choppers is a mere 30 minutes, I guess they can do 'second servings' if immigration is slow enough .
Or maybe they soon have to go for a grander ship .
Or even this into which they could empty a 777 of C pax .

...simply because of bad research (did not know that only o/w is included). O/w is $105, accordingly ca. $60 for the limo. Appropriate fare base for I would be IHIT

I regularly used the heli when flying from Bangkok airport into the city - but that was convenient, go-as-you-come, point-to-point. This is different
Again, YMMV.

I'm dead-serious. I've done both the heli and the limo ride several times from EWR and time-wise it's always been a wash at worst or the limo was up to half an hour quicker. Plus, you don't have to deal with checking your luggage again (and paying an extra if you're carrying two bags), waiting for the next available flight... and then catching a cab to your final destination from the heliport..

Helicopter Service EWR
For flights on LH 408 DUS-EWR LH offers a free heli-service until end of July from EWR to Manhattan. Has anybody experienced that? Are there taxis available at the Heliport on 34th Street?
