Yes I was also on a bus on my MXP-MUC (mainline LH). The plane parked by a jetway but we disembarked from the stairs, boarded a bus, and were taken to the usual arrival place in T2.
So I guess bus arrivals still happen.

Gates K4/6/8/10 and K20/22/24 currently have inop jetbridges due to remaining contruction work, so any arrivals in that stand get bussed.
CRJ and ATR arrivals will always have bus gates as the jetbridges in MUC cannot be used on these aircraft types. E19x sometimes dock at the terminal, sometimes they don't.

Arrived into K10 this morning and no bus. Got to experience the "new jetway smell"
Some other gates in that area still have construction work. Overall the T2-Satellite was quite busy, except that the entire north-western part was not in use.
The train seemed to work fine. Overall a very smooth experince. Arriving at the K / L gates really only adds a couple of minutes, so no big deal.

I'm in the middle of a 6 hour involuntary layover in MUC, spending half of the time in a sleeping cubicle in the T2S Schengen SEN lounge. About to move upstairs to the non-Schengen lounge.
The place is deserted as far as I can see.

I've now moved upstairs to the non-Schengen SEN lounge. The receptionist reminded me my flight departed from H but I told her I was here because it's a much nicer lounge, and it is.
There are at least twice as many guests as downstairs but it is still very quiet at 2pm. The layout is almost identical except for the bar, one extra nap cubicle and an area with LH forest wallpaper at the end.
Food is also the same with some exception. Greek style vegetarian pasta dish vs. Thai vegetable curry.

Connecting from an Air Dolomiti flight GOA-MUC (2K I think) to a non-Schengen LH flight 2H?), all in business class. With about 8 hours, the plan is to go into the city for a bit. Is there a lounge one can leave a carry on bag within Schengen? Or any suggestion on how to make this as easy as possible?

that reduces it to 5 hours. then you have security check when coming back , rushing to your gate etc..
does not sound worth the hustle..unless you are willing to postpone your final flight..in case something goes wrong..
I would rather use the lounge and may be leave the terminal and sit in the on site beergarden between T1/T2
luggage can not at all be left in any lounge..but you find a left luggage Service Centre in T2, Level03 near the security check

I wouldn't leave a bag in a Schengen lounge if you are leaving from a non-Schengen gate. Even if it's technically possible I don't think you are supposed to leave a bag in a locker in a lounge if you are leaving the lounge for more than a short period. I'd pay a few Euros and use left luggage facilities at the airport.

Thanks to both of you. We'll use the left luggage in T2 and head into the city for a bit. Definitely better than sitting in a lounge for 8 hours. Leaving 3 hours for travel to/from MUC, that will still give us time to walk around a bit. We'll just stay around Marienplatz.

I know the airport reasonably well, and the city centre well, so I probably save some time compared to a newbie. Even so I would not do this if I had less than four hours between flights, and in that case knew exactly where I was going. True: the S-bahn takes around 50 minutes, depending on the line and final destination; count on 75 minutes from landing to arrival downtown. Buy an Airport-City-Day-Ticket from any ticket machine, and take the first available S-Bahn train. Plan on being back at the airport about an hour before departure (leaving downtown 1h45 minutes before departure). T2 Security is quick, especially the fast track. The four hours between the planes thus gives one about an hour downtown, your eight hours would give you up to five hours, plenty time for shopping or a museum and a sit-down meal.
As for luggage, I have always left my luggage at the Schengen Lounge. Note: I last did this last year, so I do not know if anything has changed with the locker situation, though! I have always spent fiften minutes or so in the lounge after depositing my bag, not to make it TOO obvious that I am leaving the bag there, getting a drink and a snack, and freshening up a bit. When I have come back to pick up my bag I sometimes have just gone straight to the lockers, telling the attendants that I am just there to pick up the bag. I have never been told off by them for doing that, My reason for leaving the bag in the lounge, and not at left luggage is to save time and hassle at the security check when coming back to the airport.

Left luggage for a week
We are splitting up our vacation between Germany/Austria and the US. As our transatlantic travel is on DL (no status) and we do not need all our Germany luggage in the States, we want to leave a suitcase at the airport for a week. DL leaves from T1, thus leaving the suitcase at the T2 left luggage office is an extra trek when leaving.
Is there another left luggage office, except the one in T2?

You may ask at the Service Centre T1.
http://www.munich-airport.de/en/cons...erT1/index.jsp
Otherwise from T1 to T2 is basically a 1-minute-walk.

In a few weeks my partner and I will be connecting through MUC on our way to Florence. We're flying AC J from YYZ to Munich and will be continuing on EN to FLR in J, however the dolomiti flight is ticketed as an LH code share.
As it stands now, and obviously baring any delays we have approximately 75 minutes in MUC. I'm wondering and hoping that firstly we have access to lounge and if so, would the most convenient lounge have shower facilities? If the answer is yes, is it realistic when you factor in walking and customs, to expect that I could have a quick shower?
