Does that sound like a good plan? Anything I'm missing? Thanks!
I always like to report back to FT after the fact. I did my plan and it worked perfectly. The bus was right on schedule. I also spent 3 hrs in a surprisingly quiet Senator Lounge this AM. Thanks again!

Hi folks. I'll be doing SFO-MUC-Italy in F in the next couple of days: will I be able upon arrival to go the F lounge (non schengen) and move to the Schengen side from within the lounge ?
Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I have not done US-Schengen connections in MUC for a long time now and I am not sure how it works.

Yes, you can go to the FCL in either T2 or T2 Satellite and go through passport control into Schengen within the lounge. No need to clear security.

Asking on behalf of a friend.
She is flying on LH from CPH to MUC and then on to YVR with 40 min connection.
Will she have to:
1 change terminals?
2 go through immigration/passport control?
3 go through security check?
4 is this a "makeable" connection?
TIA

No (might have to go from T2 to T2S or viceversa); passport control; no; if all on one ticket no problem, on separate tickets a bit suicidal.

All on one ticket. Hopefully she'll be OK.
Thank you.

Expectations for transferring to US-bound flight

My traveling companion and I (US passports) have the following itinerary:
NUE-MUC (LH 2157) Arrive 10:00AM
MUC-IAD (UA 107) Depart 12:20PM

From my research, looks like we have to get on a bus to go from T2 to T1. My questions:
  • At what point do we go through passport control (before leaving T2 or upon arrival to T1)?
  • Will we have to go back through security at T1?
  • What gates does the bus depart/arrive?

My plan was to just go to the PriorityPass in T1 to hang out before our flight (after passport control and security). We are flying award business on UA.

UA is also departing from T2 (or T2Sat)

You will arrive in T2 (or T2S, which is a satellite connected with an underground train). UA107 leaves from the lower H gates in T2, so no need to move to another terminal. Just follow the signs to your gate, and this will take you through passport control at one point. You do not need to clear security, though there is sometimes random security before getting to the gate area for the US flights.

If you are flying UA business, you get access to the LH Business Lounge, so no need to go over to T1 for the PriorityPass lounge.

You're right, I inappropriately assumed it was in non-schengen area. Thanks - onto finding a lounge strategy...if there is one.

Yup, that's my plan now. I didn't know this information before - I'm not an experienced flyer. Thanks!
