Where is your destination (Schengen or non-Schengen)? LH Business Lounges are not arrival lounges but your departing BP should allow you access to one. Which Business you can access might depend on whether your connecting*A flight departs from a Schengen or non-Schengen gate.
Can I walk to the non-schengen LH business lounge after deplaning (no security?), grab a shower and leave our carry-on bags, go through immigation/customs to get out to the city, and then come back at night and pick up our bags before getting on our next flight?

Arriving LH flight is from the USA (safe non-schengen?) and departing *A flight is to a non-schengen country. We'll be spending the day in Munich.

I'm looking to book ORD-MUC-VIE with a 1h 25m connection in MUC.
I assume that MUC-VIE is Schengen?
So, in MUC, I would need to clear immigration and security with my hand-luggage. However, I do not need to collect my checked luggage, clear customs, and then re-check my luggage. Is this correct?
Do I clear customs with my checked luggage in VIE?

In a few weeks I'll be flying ORD-MUC-PRG on LH, single ticket/PNR, Y class, no status or lounge privileges whatsoever. 2h30 layover.
I have gathered that (1) I'll enter on the H level, with no extra security check as the USA is now "clean"; (2) I'll clear a passport check (and potentially customs of hand luggage) and go down one flight to the G level for the onward flight; (3) I'll pick up luggage and clear customs in PRG as identified by the lack of green tag on said luggage.
It seems that 2h30 should be enough for a quick bite at Dallmayr on the G level. However, two questions:
Thanks / Vielen Dank

- Message number 550 by oliver2002 suggests that the passport check backs up very severely during the bank of USA arrivals. Is this still a significant problem?
- I read somewhere else (can't recall where) that if I do OLCI, I may not receive my second BP and thus have to wait in a potentially long line at the LH transfer desk. Is that correct?
I've seen luggage lockers with keys outside the shower rooms in the non-schengen business lounge, but I don't know if those are only for those showering or can be used for leaving luggage in the lounge.
Those can be used for leaving luggage ..u can take the keys and give it back later..

The transfer desk has a bank of self service kiosk stationed in front of them, so printing a BP copy should be painless.

Sometimes when you checkin and the connecting flight is outside the T-23h hour window, the system may not generate a BP for the next segment. Usually opening OLCI again within the T-23h window of the second flight generates the second BP. I fnot, you have to print yourself a BP at the kiosk or a regular transfer counter in MUC.

In any case this can be a real PITA when you have a tight 1-hour connection in FRA and need to clear security - maybe less so in MUC which seems more efficient ...

Even when T<23 hours I have not always received a boarding pass for the second segment. Not sure why - IT limitations at overseas locations?

To my big surprise: my connection, that was originally 45 mins, was not guaranteed at MUC. We came in 30 mins late and they've let the connecting flight depart. I wasn't even the only one with the same connection. I thought they would take care of status pax??
The system rebooked me 2 flights later..., a kind lounge agent rebooked me on the first next flight (after typing for 10 minutes), resulting in a 2 hour delay.

Sending the flight on schedule and rebooking you is completely normal. I don't see the problem with how they handled this.

"When incoming flights are delayed, Ramp Direct Service (RDS) or Gate Direct Service (GDS) picks up passengers and their luggage at the aircraft or at the arrival gate and escort passengers directly to their connecting flight."
I was surprised that no-one was there, and only pax to NYC were picked up. It's a first time for me that this service wasn't provided. And to be honest, if I didn't have a meeting to attend, I wouldn't have minded, but I didn't have time to loose and I counted on this above promise.
