Ok, thanks.
So OS has grounds for refusing me my request for compensation. I booked a journey with 65 minutes connection inf VIE, F to G gates. Due to delay of the first leg, my connection was reduced to 32 minutes. The connection TV displayed that it take 20-30 min to reach the gate G27 from F10. The gate was closed when I arrived in 28 minutes.
The Service Center agent said OS will refund but now Customer service are denying the refund under ground that after delay I was still higher than MCT.

There are many factors that influence the ability to make a connection that is close to the MCT.
Among them are:
- If your first flight arrives at a remote stand and you have to take a bus to the terminal.
- If you have to go through extra security screening before your next flight.
If both of those occur, it’ll take you more than 25 minutes to make it to your next flight.
For OS to deny a refund in those types of situations is just silly.
If the first flight was on time, you would have made your second flight. It’s that simple. OS may blame the delay on others (ACT, weather, etc.), but that’s not an excuse for denying a refund.

@fransknorge: it is definitely worth pursuing this further (personal experience in similar circumstances on my usual travel to/from Sarajevo via Schwechat). That said, I hope you enjoy your stay in town, despite the rather bad start.

45m layover in Vienna to Tel Aviv on my SUF-VIE-TLV flight. Doable?
Flyertalkers,
I redeemed miles on United for an Austrian Airlines flight from Italy (SUF) to Tel Aviv via Vienna. The Vienna layover is 45m yet I got the award so it's a legal ticket. Austrian is still selling the ticket for June 1 (the day I travel).
I booked this a while ago and I do not have many options that don't include 9h+ layovers. I don't know whether to book a worse option or hope for the best with this one.
I know I will be covered by EU261 in the worse case, but the next available flight is on the next day.
Thanks!

The question to ask yourself is whether or not you can arrive in TLV a day later. If you can't afford to miss that day or the logistics become much more complicated, the long layover may be better than taking the risk.

Can you explain the set up in detail?
Can you explain the set up in as much detail as you can?
I just flew MRS-MUC-TLV with a 1.5h connection. I know 1h MUC it is doable, but I wish that I had exactly the gate (I think flights to Israel are H42-46) and the fact that there is an additional security check. It seems at airports reasonably the gates for flights to TLV are the furthest away.

All *A flights at VIE are in the same terminal... really the same concourse. What they do is separate Schengen (your flight from Italy) from non-Schengen (your flight to TLV) by which floor you're on with an escalator system in between. For practical purposes, this connection will take you less time than it takes at most major US hub airports.
