Not to surprising as LH is one of (or even the) owner of payback. LH actually holds 50,6 % of payback.
Rest is:
Metro AG (25,1%), Alexander Rittweger (16,8 %),Roland Berger (7,5 %)

Great news so you can earn two miles per Euro spend at some shops if paying with your LH Visa...

The 1:1 rate is not very generous.

E.g. 1 roundtrip in Europe (flysmart) costs 20,000 miles -> 20,000 pb points -> 200 .

That's ok, but there are also better last minute offers at the infoflyway

1 roundtrip in Europe (eco): 30,000 miles -> 30,000 pb points -> 300

Not really a good deal.

It may be worth using payback points vor c class (europe 400 ), but not for eco.

What do you mean Michilo ?
Isn't it correct that you dO only get 1 pb point for every spent ?
So in order to get a free flight for 20,000 miles you'd have to spent 20,000 if you'd solely do it with your payback card.

the pb points are worth 1 cent. payback pays you 1 cent in cash for each pont if you wish. so if you have 20.000 points you can get 200 euros in cash.

the lh-reward-flight has to be more worth than 200 euros.

Are we back to the discussion of the value of 1 LH mile?

An eco flight within Europe can be worth much more than 200 Euro, especially to Eastern European destinations (which often have no W/V/Q class specials at all!).

Also consider 180k points for a First Class ticket Europe to Asia, for which the green politician Mr Rezzo Schlauch just had to pay 7800 Euro for "misuse of miles" (resulting in over 4 cents per mile).

Payback even offers an automatic transfer of points to miles twice a year - without a minimum amount. (The minimum amount for a cash conversion is 1500 points!)
