Lufthansa Website & Pricing

Hi, just looking to price a flight for the significant other to join me on a trip from SFO-PRG and the price goes from 1600-4500 in a matter of seconds and now it's drop down to 2300 - is this common? What's the matter with such erratic pricing? And no, I've taken the taxes and other applicable fees into account - there's no reasoning as far as I can tell beyond obvious price manipulation.

I have also noticed strange things with pricing today too. I was checking up
flights from Frankfurt to Singapore on the dates below and managed to find
an Economy Basic fare booking in Z class which is presumably business.

Frankfurt (FRA) to Singapore (SIN):

Departing: Sat 23 Dec - Returning: Sun 7 Jan

Sat 23 Dec 22:10 Frankfurt 16:55 +1 Singapore LH778 11h45 Economy Basic (Z)

Sun 7 Jan 23:55 Singapore 06:00 +1 Frankfurt LH9763 1 13h05 Economy Basic (Z)

If only I had a reason to go to SIN and the $$ to pick up an extra C class ticket versus Y.

Purchased tix to LHR and VIE today.

Nothing special, just the regular and normal pretty expensive fares.

The price (2490,00 Euro) for "real" business class is the same, so no need to go in Economy Basic (Z)

When I was booking my dus - lax flight in y in September two weeks ago I had price differences of 200 euros within twenty minutes for the same routings while looking up the different possibilities. That is a volatility of more than 20%.
