LH Hon and Business Class Bonus Mile Questions.

Hello. This is my first post on the LH Forum, so please excuse my ignorance. (read: be gentle).

I have a few questions:

For HON qualification, I know the requirement is 600,000 miles in 2 years.

1. Does LH give advance HON status if I can provide UA mileage statements etc ?

2. For the 600,000 miles, does that include the bonus for C/D/Z fares ?

3. What is the bonus for C, D, and Z fares ?

Thank you for your help.

Adria Airways
Air Dolomiti
Air One
Austrian Airlines Group
Croatia Airlines
LOT Polish Airlines

You are aware that there is a difference between status miles and HON miles: HON Circle miles are status miles that you collect on Air-Rail trains in Germany and on flights operated by Adria Airways, Air Dolomiti, Air One, Austrian Airlines Group, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Regional and SWISS. Only a maximum of 100,000 miles collected on Air-Rail trains will be considered.

Thank you, everyone.

So, if I start out as a Senator and travel on C/D/Z fares, does this mean I will get, say on 20,000 actual mile roundtrip on LH:

20,000 x 200 % x 125% (Exec Bonus) = 50,000 Miles ? - which will be actual (redeemable for award) miles, status miles, and HON Circle miles ?

Normal roundtrip Europe to East Coast is about 10.000 Miles

You receive 10.000 Base Miles + 2.500 Executive Bonus +10.000 Business Class Bonus.

When flying on fully integrated LH Partners, they count as award miles, status miles, and HON Circle miles. When flying on *-Partners, they count as award and status miles, but you won't get the executive bonus on certain airlines (eg SQ).

AFAIK, the bonus is calculated on the basic miles and not on the double of the business.

I also have a question on this topic, the should mileage status show how many HON miles I earned up to now? on the example in the lh website there are 3 columns 1. miles, 2. status miles, 3. hon miles.

my account doesn't show any third column!!!

The 3rd row will appear once you've reached 300.000 HON Miles.
But keep in mind: No UA, no SQ, no TG etc.

13 or 14 J-Class returns FRA - SYD / MEL on OS will do the job.

My travel patterns will be 6-7 + round trips between the U.S and India per year. (mix of US east coast and west coast)

HON miles will only show up after 300.000 status miles

- sorry too late -

OK. Using an example routing of ORD-FRA-BOM on LH, www.meilenrechner.de offers the following calculations:

ORD-FRA-BOM (Base Miles): 8,414
ORD-FRA-BOM (Exec Bonus): 2,104 (25% of Base)
ORD-FRA-BOM (C,D,Z, Bonus): 8,414 (100% of Base)

Total Miles (one-way): 18,932

Total Miles (return): 37,864

600,000 / 37,864 = 15.864

That means you will need 16 roundtrips ORD-FRA-BOM in C (or something equivalent) in two years to reach HON. Good luck!

i'd be curious to know how many hon are in the world and how many sen.
I think 600.000 is really a lot!!!, definitely too much for me!

Let's check.

Let's assume you do 6 roundtrips JFK-FRA-DEL-FRA-JFK and 7 roundtrips LAX-FRA-DEL-FRA-LAX in business class in two subsequent calender years, all on LH metal.

Let's further assume that you are already FTL or SEN, so elegible for executive bonus.

This gives you 6 x 34,448 + 7 x 43,156 = 508,780 HON miles.

This means you are missing some 92,000 miles to HON.

How is the OP supposed to fly this in the few months until the route will be discontinued?
