Are $$ Upgrades available on OS VIE-BKK

Hey all,

Did a search but couldn't find a difinative answer.

Flying from PRG-VIE-BKK next Thursday. Just wondering if OS do cash uprades from Y-C class. I'm booked in H class i think.

Any idea as to how much if this happens and how I should ask the check in agent? I've done this many times with other airlines, but never with OS?

Thanks
Kael

if availibility is there (currently c4 is available) then this should be no problem.

I did this on vie-jfk and -iad several times without problem. there the price is 590 eur. this can only be done on board, and you have to talk to the purser in person. the way I usually do it is having the lady in the lounge check the number of available c-seats and have her tell the purser in advance that I wanna to an onboard upgrade against cash. when entering the plane i ask for the purser and I can choose a seat in b/c and after the start he comes to do the bill settlement.

cash upgrades can be done regardless of booked class of service.

regards,

Look for the flight supervisor at VIE. He can upgrade you against cash and usually stands behind the desk at the gate before security.

The guy at OS checkin in BKK offered me one against cash on asking this February. The price was some 550-600 EUR converted from THB. Sadly there was no space in C.

You can do it on board if there is space available for €690

updated: EUR 750 for cash upgrade BKK-VIE

Flew BKK-VIE on OS some days ago in C class. One pax wanted to upgrade his wife and daughter for cash. Plenty of seats available in C, however one pax had to agreed to move to a new seat to accommodate the family in one row (middle). Once boarding was completed wife and daughter came to their new seats and shortly afterwards a FA came to swipe the cc of the pax. The FA later told me that upgrade to C is EUR 750/pax.

Expensive !

On UA you pay 600$ Y to C or 719$ C to F (even on awards).

IFE & over all quality might differ

Out of curiosity

Hi,

Guess the answer is No, but do these upgrades qualify for the upgraded class or ticketed class?

The answer is: No, they don't

Finish kidding. The paid upgrades qualify for the class you pay for - finally it's nothing else than biz (officially D-class). So you are entitled for double miles, but it might not be credited automatically. So keep your receipt.

Paid upgrades have the disadvantages that you cannot chose your seat in advance and have no guarantee that there are seats - and, according to your initally ticketed booking class, it's not always a bargain. My best deal so far was a night-flight VIE-TBS (190€).

Edit: I'm speaking about OS and not about UA.
