I will be arriving LH C from HAM; connecting to LH F to LAX. (I am guessing the LAX flight (452) leaves from a gate, not a remote location?)

Since no-else jumped in...
I am here now, second time today. Very nice and plush. Smaller than FCT, but I think it is more exclusive. Excellent food/wines, breakfast selection slightly smaller but (I think) higher quailty. Top-rate wines, spirits etc. Staff MUCH better than FCT is now. Really friendly and caring, always call me by name.
3 showers, one bathroom, with much nicer rubber ducks (in Lederhosen etc!).
Lounge is actually in Schengen area officially (but on H level), but can be accessed from H also, in which case you need to do passport control/security in the lounge. Not a big deal at all. Limo transfers to a/c at bus gates work well - plus also transfers FROM bus gates (unlike FRA...)
Overall a very good experience. No reason to fly via FRA now IMHO.
Any more questions, let me know. I'm here again on Friday.

It is nice and definitely an improvement over the HONdehütte...
But I still like FCT and FCL at A26 in FRA much better (the lounge only). Checking the package airport and lounge: it depends, I guess arriving in MUC is better, direct departure from FRA.

HONter

FCL experience was pretty good. Breakfast was either help yourself to the usual German fare, or made to order -eggs, over easy, sausage, tomatoes.
Lunch was going to be Wiener Schnitzel.
Orange juice was the good, "real" stuff. Private bathroom/shower area was modern, bright, spotless. Entrance is rather non-descript, so if you are not paying close attention to the signs, you might have a little trouble finding the door. Check in is still outside of security.
No actual computer terminals, however.

I was not overly impressed......in comparison to the FCT in FRA.....but still light years ahead of what most airlines offer.
MUC IFL is smaller than I expected. "Front door" was difficult to see when walking down the terminal.....there were actually three of us who looked at the non-descript door (downstairs in G), and then walked around the corner to see if there was a real door somewhere. Seats and food are same as FRA FCT. It's built "inside" the terminal, so no views to the outside at all.
Everything else being equal, I'd book thru FRA simply for the FCT.

The food was not as excellent as expected. I thought before, that it may top FRA FCT/FCL, but it actually doesn't.
Due to that lounge size with just a couple more longhaul flights probably established out of MUC in the near future it may get crowded pretty soon. I didn't find the processes easy upon entry and exit with card registration plus incoming BP review plus connection flight registration. When leaving the lounge the connecting BP (to FRA) was double-checked again (probably for the right signs, that I did passport control and screening) and verified in the computer. Then I went to G32 and recognized to my total surprise, that I have to enter a bus for a tarmac boarding. Don't they offer to provide limo transfer to the planes in such cases? So, who is it to recognize, whether an aircraft stands at a gate or not. I don't think, I have to ask this for a standard G32 printed on my BP and displayed on the screens. And after all their close looks on my BP they should come to the idea of checking it in the computer (of have it already marked). So, this was a disappointment.
However, the lounge still is light years ahead of other airline offers and of course better, than the HONdehütte. But it does not top FRA IMHO.

I was there two weeks ago arriving from DEN and connecting to TXL. They told me the flight had a gate position within easy walking distance. At the gate I noticed that I also had to board a bus. I asked if this was a last minute change and they said it was not. This morning flight to Berlin usualy leaves from a tarmac position. Boarding the plane I noticed a lot of German politicians sitting in the first rows of Business.

Why do they use Mercedes S Class for shuttle service on MUC?
MUC being the Bavarian capital, wouldn't it be appropriate using BMW 7er instead?
I guess a good chunk of First Class pax or HONs in MUC are in some regard connected to BMW, either working for them, being a customer, supplier, whatever...
Do you think LH pays for those Mercedes and Porsches or do they get them for free as they are "cheap marketing" to well suited people ?

Contrary to Greenland, I had an easy in/out process. I arrived from HAM, so I came in downstairs. She checked my papers, wrote something down, and took my passport. I was told to collect my passport upon leaving the FCL.
Took about 25-30 seconds.
Went upstairs and sat, read, drank tea, etc. When it was time to leave, I stopped by the Passport Control window, got my passport in 15 seconds, and I walked out.
Not sure if they would have noticed if my flight was gate or remote location.
I sat in the TV area just as you walk into the lounge area upstairs. I was watching TV.....so facing the Passport Control window and security area....I could see everyone walking in or out of the lounge. I did not see anyone who was being escorted by one of the staff, as you would in FRA FCT, when being driven to the aircraft. In fact, during the 3 hours I was there, I can only remember 2 times when a staff member (other than food service staff) came into the lounge area.

Their marketing material I received a couple weeks ago for MUC FCL mentions, that all outstandings get limo transfer in and out at MUC. My bad experiences was driven by 1) FRA flight on the tarmac, never happened before and 2) that nobody in FCL did mention it to me. They should know better than I can. It was one of the rare disappointments for me, when dealing with LH.
