WiFi how to's
Going ATL to SVO in Feb and wondering about the Connexion on board service. I've searched (I promise) threads but could not find anything.
1. Cost (ok, that one could be found on the LH site)? 2. Any coupons for free or discounted service? 3. Can I and three friends share the connection on the flight at different times? 4. Any other insights I need to know? Many thanks!!! |
I used the Connexion from MUC to ORD. It 30USD for the full 9+ hr flight.
Price: http://www.connexionbyboeing.com/ind...ng&l=en.US&ec= Coupons, there was one for 60min of use, but I dont see that anymore., Sharing connection would be very difficult, as it alows only a certain PC (by the unique MAC address) to access the internet. There are ways, but its for the IT-Professionals. I liked it, it was fast (faster than dial-up, not like my cable at home) but fast eough to stream some videos and to chat and do something. I never lost signal across the atlantic, and even though it was 30$, i was kept busy. |

Up in the air you should be all right. Its fast enough for email, VPN access and general browsing / messenger / chat etc, but probably not for high bandwidth apps like streaming video. |

This is btw a Connexion By Boeing solution and not a LH solution. LH was only the first airline to introduce it, now followed by SAS as the only other European airline and some asian airlines. So where is the rest of European airlines and all the US carriers? Nothing ! |
