LH Damaged Luggage. Suggestion?

Several montsh ago LH damaged my luggage, very severly. They had me sent it off to the place they contract with for repair and they said they couldn't do it and it needed to go to the manufactuer. It really is beaten up, and it was new (5 months old).

I have sent several letter to the LH office at LAX (where I filed my claim) and I haven't heard anything. It has been nearly a month, the phone number they gave me just rings and rings....any suggestions?

This was an expensive piece of luggage and I was in FC. Thoughts?

Did the luggage repair repair company the suitcase was brought in fill in
a damage report? They should have - that form you can then just mail to
Lufthansa CS.
If it is just the phone number that doesn't work bug LH reservations with
it: 1 800 645 3880.

If not - you still have the damage report forms, I suppose. You could copy
those and mail a complaint letter to LH CS in the US:

Lufthansa Customer Service
P.O. Box 425
East Meadow, NY 11554

The situation is unusual. They are generally really good with delayed or
damaged luggage and pay quickly. It is just that the contracted luggage
repair facilities tend to write off to much off your relatively new luggage and
also are inclined to claim that your luggage was an inferior brand no matter
how expensive it was.

My bag was seriously damaged in mid-December. I filed a report at the airport and was told that they would pay within 4 weeks. In January I asked again, this time at MUC, and was told that it takes 8 weeks, because baggage irregularities are handled in Dublin. I still haven't heard anything about my damaged bag; I called the US reservation number today, and was told to e-mail LH. I hope this will speed up the procedure.
