Depends on the station: MUC, FRA, LAX: UA*G
TXL, DUS: UAP

No experience with other stations I can recollect.

Guess I'll go dumpster diving and try to find my old 02/2006 1K card, and use it when travelling on LH metal.

And yes, UA added 4 digits to the number, namely "2007".

That's right. If my brain is right this works since approx. 2002 or 2003.

How did you know, that I make my money in IT and my company develops software.

Do you know, why most IT projects fail?

More than 66%, because..... ( )

.... yes, because the requirements were spelled out incomplete or incorrect.

But, since we both don't know, what the issue is, we can only guess. I mean, if the same company was used for the LH card readers, as for the famous IFE in new C, then I am completely with you. Those guys should all be send for 4 weeks to a prison in Angola.

I think I'll get a severe problem, because getting HON interrupts my SEN-continuation . Let's wat and see what's happening when I'll be 60. Salve Luigi

Yes, but status miles were only introduced a couple of years into the program. At the beginning each and every flight mile counted towards status.

Is there actually anyone around who has received the lifetime SEN card ? Perhaps we need to search in old Folks homes

I did not - am a computer scientist (engineering side) myself hence I have
my prejudice about these systems too .

Yes and I agree. But of course that is the nice way to say it, as it is not
only the customers who have no clue what they need. It is our gangs who
have no idea about their businesses either.
I mean since about 10 years, one can completely forget to read the specs
of any project as specs are only written to compile the ISO 90XX forms
and keep the boss - who has no clue either - quiet.
But I am abducting the thread.
In relation to the thread - we do not know, I agree. It could as well be that
the GrandMaster is right and UA fogged up the card code. But in my
experience it is always someone following a standard to which no one else
ever adheres.

Oops have to go to a meeting with some clueless IT guys soon.

I was thinking about the same. But have 18.5 more years to do a continious HON. A lifetime HON wouldn't be bad either.

LH senator-lifetime status?

Hello,
is it also possible with LH to achieve lifetime SEN status similar to SQ PPS lifetime solitaire?
If yes how can it be reached?
According to my knowledge LH does not count your accumulated earned miles as SEN.
So it can only be offered by selection of VIP pax.
Anybody can give some info ?

AFAIK there is only one way to get lifetime senator status:

You have to have held the Senator card for at least 10 consecutive years when you turn 60.

Other than that there is no other way get a lifetime Senator status.

Ohh yeah if you have enough money you can just buy yourself SEN for 1,500EUR /year. (They only sell it to you though if you have become a SEN the normal way at least once.)

... you have to pass the age of 60 and you need 1.000.000 status miles within those ten years.

You'll get the offer by mail if your SEN status is close to expiring and you are far away from your 130K miles.

The 1500 € only extend the status for one year though.

I got the offer earlier this autumn when I was "lagging behind" on re-qualification (a few busy weeks sorted it out).

One question; will they give it each year? Or is it a one-time "sort yourself out" offer?

I even thought that it´s a one time thing after the 2 years of SEN

There are even no extra goodies like E-Vouchers, of course.

the offers discussed here have little to nothing to do with livetime SEN qualification - there are one-time individual offers for soon to expire SEN that allow them to earn double status miles (status only, no bonus miles) for 2-3 months remaining of the last calendar year, and offers to buy a one year SEN extension with monney.

for lifetime SEN: the current rules are (as told to me this january 2006 at the LH downtown office in ZRH):

- 10 years uninterrupted SEN (at age > 60 & at the time of application to be 'granted' that lifetime status) &
- min 1.000.000 status miles accrued &
- no automatisme, costumer must apply

I will become lifetime SEN in 2009.

Has anyone doen this???
Does > 60 mean you must be 60 or more or exactly 60 when you complete the 10 years etc?

I too will have my 10 years in in 2009 but I sure don't have a record of my miles for all those years. The last time I asked for an account history they just gave me the last 12-18 months.

Can we just ask LH for our total milage to see where we are in the million mile race?

With thanks,

Shofar
