Choice between MUC or FRA connection

Hi !

We will travel from Stockholm to Paris CDG and I have a choice to make between 2 itineraries :

1/ ARN-MUC (LH2415) – MUC-CDG (LH2232) with 1h30 layover

2/ ARN-FRA (LH803 – FRA-CDG (LH1046) with 1h55 layover

Both itineraries offer exactly the same global travel time, but I can’t decide between the two.

I would normally prefer to go towards the longer layover time, to minimize the risk of missing the connection, but FRA let me a bitter memory last year. We had a connection between 2 EU flights and all the red boxes have been ticked (even with a J ticket) : inbound flight delayed, bus gates, enormous walking time, outbound flight didn’t wait at all, silly rebooking proposed, helpless staff at the lounge, long lines at the transfer desk to finally been rebooked on a flight that I had to find myself…

One in the other, I tend to think that MUC being a smaller airport the 15 min shorter layover could finally be more efficient and safer (and why not leave us some time in the lounge).

What would you choose in this situation? Thanks!

MUC every time, this Forum is full of horror stories from FRA, even if it was 50 minutes at MUC, i would still chose that

Really it is not entirely about the transfer time, as a FRA-experienced traveller that is chris63 wisely suggests. Connecting at Munich is a way more pleasant experience than travelling through a decrepit and overall tired airport like Frankfurt. In a nutshell: avoid if you can.

Always chose MUC, it's a much better experience, and you'll have more time to relax despite the shorter total time at the airport.

I vote for a non-stop flight much better than direct with a ground layover

Clear vote for MUC, with the added benefit if you miss your connection you can visit the beer garden just outside T2

MUC is a small airport with Int'l/Non-Schengen and Schengen on separate floors above each other. It's very, very well designed. Connecting = security/immigration and walking upstairs. You can quite honestly connect in MUC in 30 minutes, and still have time. FRA is a zoo.

Not really adding any wisdom here, but MUC all the way.
