their Twitter team is usually quite good and responsive and also happy to change your FFN in an existing booking. Never had the very same issue though obviously

Also it was possible for me adding UA FFN prior to October 10. Now not possible since I switched to travel ID. I get a different error message when I try to manage a booking, like this below, trying with 2 different browsers. I also tried to send a ticket via the website about this issue, and that was rejected due to internal server error, second error message below. Will call later today. My advice, DO NOT change to Travel ID until this gets fixed.
2 errors have occurred. Please note:
Submit Validation Failed
Your request cannot be completed due to a technical error. (Internal Server Error)
sorry about the formatting using different browser
Before you can continue, please check the following: The same frequent flyer number has been entered more than once. Please validate your entries and try again. (1302)

Called LH technical support today (Oct. 24). The lady on the other end said the system has not worked since September 11 and LH IT has no idea when it will work.
Perhaps some on this forum are able to log in to lufthansa.com and the mobile app but my fruitless experience trying to log in over the past six weeks confirms what the IT rep told me.

Thanks for saving me a call to LH IT and sorry to hear about your login issues.
FWIW, I tweeted my issues to @Lufthansa on Twitter and have been duly ignored.

For the last few years, I've used my Lufthansa ID (e-mail address + password) to maintain a profile with Lufthansa that could save my personal information including Aeroplan FF number. After completing a recent booking, the LH website prompted me to convert my Lufthansa ID into a Travel ID that could be used across the LH Group websites. I did so, and most of the information seemed to carry over successfully, except the frequent flyer number. So I tried to add it manually and receive this error:

Trying to add a non-M&M FF number during the booking process also does not appear possible anymore:

Why is Lufthansa making "improvements" to its website that reduce its functionality? Do they want more people to "contact the Service Center" and increase their operating costs?

So Lufthansa sent me an email to switch to Travel ID, which I idiotically did. Then when I try to log in with my new credentials, it tells me that the password is wrong, and when I try the "forgot password" route and use the link from the password reset email, it tells me "unable to change password, please try again".
LH keeps excelling at all things IT.

What a disaster.
I thought that they were just unable to create and innovate.
But no. - Now they also break what worked before.
Login - Falling apart
Manage booking functionality. - worse than before, partly not working anymore
Connecting flights availability - Partly broken
Seat selection - Partly broken, facility seat blocking chaos, sad, downgraded layout (LX)
online booking - increased number of failures / system crashes.
>>>What an ugly face this company is presenting.

Nothing good about this change. I have two issues, one sort of connected to an issue mentioned above and one I don't see mentioned anywhere. Latter first as it's the one I need help with.
On the website when logged in with my old Lufthansa username I could go through the booking process and somewhere near the start immediately after selecting flights I would see an option to view Fare Details, which would bring up the booking class. Now, using Travel ID I get directed to lufthansa.miles-and-more dot com (even though I am not a Miles&More account holder) and on that site I cannot find anywhere that displays the booking class. I am now used to the cheap ticket sites not displaying the booking class but for an airline site to not do so is ridiculous. Has anyone got a solution to this?
The second point relates to entering a frequent flyer number. I can add my A3 Miles&Bonus number in my profile. However, when I try to book tickets it shows the number correctly but it insists that it's an M&M number not an M&B number. I stopped at this point and pondered for ages then eventually went all the way to checkout (which I didn't complete because of the booking class issue) only to find that finally it had recognised the A3 M&B card correctly. Therefore this might save someone wasting a lot of time trying to work out how to overcome the issue of thinking they can't enter anything other than M&M. What a poor design though to show an M&M number during the booking process when you clearly don't have one.

So I got the e-mail invite from Swiss that I have to move my profile to Travel-ID. I click on the link and perform the steps - and the process ends with "a technical error occured" - and that's the end. (And no: it did really not work - on the next login it forces me to login again...Of course there is not help desk or anything...
Do they actually have an internal competitions to see who can screw IT projects the most....
(Ok admittely it is probabbly just another case of pay peanuts....)

I couple of weeks ago I got an email from Swiss about Travel ID being ready. Although at the end of the email (why of all places was it put at the end of the email for existing Swiss account holders) it told me that I will be told when I can migrate to Travel ID, I foolishly decided that the email can't possibly mean I have to wait for a further email in the future to be told when to migrate, otherwise why would they send me this email. I migrated anyway.
I could log in but not do much else, for those who can't even log in, you are not missing much.
I managed to delete my Travel ID and will create another one. Let's see what happens now.

Travel ID program astonishingly bad quality
Trying to use the new Travel ID system at Lufthansa and Swiss Air, experiencing many of the same problems described above . The latest symptom is a screen with just this Javascript:
This botched rollout happened under the watch of the new Lufthansa Group CIO Thomas Rckert. His background is aircraft maintenance, so you'd hope he'd have quality standards even higher than a typical website.
{ "error": "Invalid Access Token",
"error_description": "The request requires a valid access_token",
"required_scope": "AUTHENTICATED"
}
It all has the distinct feeling of software that's been tested very lightly, if at all."error_description": "The request requires a valid access_token",
"required_scope": "AUTHENTICATED"
}

Same experience as several others. I have logins for Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, and Miles-and-More. All more-or-less linked together as the Lufthansa group companies have been for some years.
I received the Swiss-branded "Travel ID is coming" email. I stupidly followed it.
The result is a brand new, empty Miles-and-More account, which has been overlaid onto my existing Lufthansa ID (and now Travel ID).
The old Miles-and-More account is still there, and I can still log in to it using the Service Card Number and PIN.
I sent a web form to Miles-and-More asking them to remove the new, blank, unneeded Miles-and-More account and to re-link my old, existing, correct Miles-and-More account to my Lufthansa/Travel ID. (*chirping crickets in the dark*). No reply.
A week later I telephoned the Miles-and-More "service centre". They can't do anything with it, except send it to their "back office" (which is what has been sitting on my earlier request).
As others have said, Lufthansa does many things right, but I.T. is absolutely not one of them. Nor is overall business process testing, nor especially customer servicing business process design and execution. The "firewall" that exists between anyone-we-can-talk-to and anyone-who-can-actually-do-something is horrific.

I sent a description of my issue (in English) using the appropriate form on the LH website. Three days later I got a response (in Italian) to please contact the team in charge by using the appropriate form on the LH website.

I didn't know that LH sunk to the new low of having Air Dolomiti do CS in addition to flying the planes...
