I am not nostalgic and will avoid LH's bunk bed hostel in C at all cost.

IMHO Boeing paid LH for the reactivation and higher fuel burn of the A346 and A380 till the B779 are delivered. Like with the A346 they will just get the aircraft to fly again, no changes in the cabin.

I think LH view it very much as a stopgap which they will get rid of as soon as they can. As we see all the time, things can always change.... But right now, I’m not expecting any new seats etc...

During an employee townhall meeting in MUC this morning CS disclosed that 4-5 A380 will be ready for the Summer 23 schedule all based in MUC. Remaining 3-4 A380 will be reactivated at the earliest for Summer 24 (if required).

Looking at the issues that BA have had with their fleet of eight, only getting four to five in place seems like a recipe for unreliability. Let's hope LH Technik do a better job than BA have done.

If it’s MUC, then maybe the plan is to use them for Asia routes and LH is betting that that market will boom next summer. We’ll see.

MUC? In addition to the extra 346s? That's a lot of extra MUC capacity and a lot of F out of MUC in contrast to FRA. So FRA is 748 and MUC is 346/388 then?

Since the A359 with F is coming to MUC starting Q3/23 it is very likely that some or all A346 will move to FRA.

Hailstorm on Lufthansa aircraft in Teruel

During the Corona pandemic, Lufthansa parked parts of its fleet in so-called “deep storage” in Teruel, Spain. Last year, it was already decided to reactivate some A340-600s, and more recently to reactivate some A380s from next year. During reactivation, the aircraft will undergo a comprehensive inspection. Due to a thunderstorm with heavy hail in Teruel, a Lufthansa team is currently traveling to northern Spain to inspect the aircraft together with Airbus experts and assess possible damage.

D-AIMK is in the process to be reactivated in TEV and will come to FRA in the coming months and then go to MNL for a C check after that. -MM will follow, then ML and MN. Entry into service only expected in the Summer 23 schedule.

Ex MUC to the usual suspects that had A380 service before the pandemic.
