Got a 10€ meal voucher. Not exactly sure what to do with it as I am in the lounge anyway ;-)

Is it possible to reserve a seat in advance? I booked this 4Y/AY flight from United (016). I have the LH PNR, but LH says advanced seat reservations are not possible. Thanks.

4Y73 Booking via AC Aeroplan (Finnair operated by Eurowings Discover)

I'm looking at booking a trip from YYC to IST using Aeroplan points. The cheapest flight option includes 4Y73 from YYC to FRA, which is a new route beginning August 1, 2022. for anyone who has booked a 4Y flight through Air Canada Aeroplan:
1) Are you able to then book a seat right after? Online or by calling someone? It says the seats aren't booked by AC so one needs to book them through Eurowings Discover.
2) If youneed to make a change to your flight, can Aeroplan handle that? Or does one need to go through Eurowing Discover?
Bottom line: How much of a hassle is a flight through Aeroplan, on a wetlease Finnair, and operated by Eurowings Discovery? I'm lookingto get all my travel details online (vs. spending hours on hold) and a flight that has a somewhat reliable departure/arrival (i.e., within 1 hour delays).

Seat reservation for business is available during booking. ASR for eco/pe needs to be paid with EW. AC is the owner of all tickets issued, so they are your contact.

Ok. I booked this flight as a LH-coded flight from United. Sounds like United should be my contact - but they can't book the seat. Nor can I find the reservation using the LH PNR on the EW website.

So I guess I'm SOL...?

ETA: This is Y+, which I think is the rear J cabin on the AY a350.

Did you try the LH website? EW Disco's operations are managed with the LH infrastructure (Amadeus Altea) not EW (Amadeus Navitaire) so the booking code will work on LH.com. Note that ASR in PE requires $$$.

I did try Lufthansa site with their PNR, but: Seat reservations are not possible on this flight.

Paying for ASR still seems like a good deal if I paid for Y+ but get a J seat on the AY a350.

I booked YYZ-YUL-MUC-BEG in J with AP (YYZ-MUC leg on 4Y) and was able to select seats on LH website using AP PNR on all segments, including operated by 4Y.

Just flew the FinnAir A350 from YYZ-MUC. It was indeed, FinnAir crew and plane. Loved the plane. I went right to sleep, and didn’t wake up until we were landing. Very comfortable seat, especially compared to J in a LH A333.

LH/4Y flights operated by AY metal

I have not seen a thread on this. If so, mods pls move/delete.

It seems LH/4Y have wetleased Finnair A359 to operate certain flights. Quite something for *A to get help from 1W. They really must be in serious trouble.

Namely FRA-TPA, today‘s flight 4Y64/14JUL for instance. I have seen notifications for flights in September, too.
