I can't wait for 5 more to come out of storage Maybe the 388 retirement was a bad idea after all

Lufthansa seems to be in a bit of a pinch now having not expected demand to rebound this quickly. Some talks of B777 white tails being offered from Boeing (must be some kind of compensation related 777X thing), Lufthansa should have a strong hand in talks with Boeing also with any additional A346 reactivation.

Interesting...so they seem to have rolled over this summer's schedule (or some variant thereof) as a placeholder for next summer? I searched a handful of routes and dates this winter and still don't see any A346s in the winter schedule.

And not only that EWR is currently served by the A350 so sounds like at least 1 more A346 will be activated if the current summer schedule rolls over.

Another 5 A346 will be reactivated this year bringing the total to 10. This will take the total fleet size to 10. These are expected to stay till the B789 and B359 deliveries are complete.

I wonder if LHG has enough maint. capacity to bring the 4 remaining 346, plus the 380s back to flying status or if this will be another recipe for de... lays.

Certainly these old aircraft will need a lot of maintenance, the A380 had a lot of ongoing problems before they were put in storage, so it must be a massive undertaking to get them back into a regular service

W22/23 so far shows A346 service to BOS, JFK, MIA & DXB. There should be more, as this only needs 4 aircraft.

It’s hard to understand why they wouldn’t sell F to DXB with 346 operating the route daily, and with group F facilities at both ports… not to mention LX F basically being sold out to DXB everyday during winter season…
