LAX-MUC back to A350 without F
My booked flight back from LAX to MUC (in May) changed from A346 to A350 without F. I thought LH‘s intention was to bring back F to MUC. Apparently they changed their mind and F is again only via FRA (748) and ZRH (777).

The A346 was originally scheduled to return to LAX in early May, but that has recently been pushed back to May 30. Seems like the maintenance needed to reactivate the planes has taken longer than LH had originally expected. Of the four A346 routes, LAX is by far the trickiest to operate, as it requires 1.5 (so effectively two) frames, whereas the rest (EWR, JFK, BOS) only require one each.
Understandable, but disappointing nonetheless.

HV was struck on the elevator on April 4 and out of action for three weeks. After getting an elevator from another A346 stored in TEV it went back into service today. JFK goes A346 May 16, LAX on May 30.

LH410/411 MUC-JFK/JFK-MUC seems to have the A346 only on 5 days/wk. Tu and Th still has the A359 scheduled (data point from mid-August). I realized when booking an F award two days ago.

JFK goes 5x A346 and 2x A359 on June 2 to have spare capacity for the LAX rotation. All 5 will be in service by July to allow EWR to start on July 11.

HU started service this weekend. HW left TEV last week and is now getting a check in FRA.

AFAIK its just 5. I personally feel we will see more coming back, LH is probably bargaining with Boeing to get paid for reactivating and operating (higher fuel burn) the remaining A346 due to the B779 & B789 delays. The A346 are probably the only semi-instant solution to the capacity problems LH has in the summer 2023 schedule.

And that seems a very reasonable solution to the capacity issues caused by delayed deliveries from Boeing.
I would love to see the A346 back in service to/from BOG so the dreadful PUJ fuel-stop can be entirely avoided (admittedly, mostly during W21/22 on the return flight to FRA)
