Austrian business class catering

Hi all
I know OS is known for good catering.
Next week I am booked on two OS flights: CPH-VIE and VIE-FRA in business class.
In the past it seems that both routes got a warm meal. Is that still the case?
Thanks
HJ

Yes, you will get a warm main, either a tomato rigatoni (not very nice) or chicken spetzle with creamy sauce (ok-ish). both come with desert, either a chocolate cake or passion fruit panna cotta

Thanks very much - I assume it applies to both routes?

For me, the long haul catering on OS was as good as 1st class on some other airlines if not better in some respects. A chef with his funny white hat flies with you and prepares your meals,. normally. The trolley service is quite like 1st on SWISS. But I think with the endless decay of quality due to Corona that the trolley service has been suspended.

There are photos in the Lufthansa business class thread.

Food seems to be back to normal with OS in C on my last few flights. The very short legs get the usual Sandwich plate and a desert. The longer ones warm meals. On my flights the crew was very charming, whereas LH crews can be hit and miss.

Isn't that just what BArb's been doing for years on UK domestic and the like? With a 30 min flying time, sarnies and cake?

A hot meal on FRA-INN would be of note.

How the mighty have fallen... OS used to have the most decent catering on short-haul J, and the MXP route in particular used to have hot meals in J until about a year ago.

Flew OS J this afternoon VIE-MXP and got... this. For a flight with a block time of 1h20, this is embarrassing even for Heimat standards.

No meat is a way of offsetting carbon emissions from their climate criminality.

Perhaps they could offer some roasted crickets or mealworms on the side to protein up the salad.

That looks like a nice salad to me, much better than LOTs outstation fiasco if you ask me... That being said and adding to the hot-cold topic, my experience differs slightly (even though I have been flying mostly Basia since March): SJJ-VIE, roughly 45 minutes flight, would normally feature 3 tiny sandwiches; LHR equals to hot meal always (regardless of the time of the day); when flying to/from PRN (just over an hour in altitude), I had hot meals at breakfast and on the last service from VIE; AMS normally gets hot meals however, just before LOT restarted operations at SJJ, I got a cold option on the 5:20PM service. Whether its the time of the day to determine either hot or cold meal, je ne sais pas, perhaps others can also share feedback.
