That was the intention when they first closed but it never materialised, then it was they would re-open as a waiting room only and I've heard nothing new on that. I'm still on Basia a few times a week and missing the San Pelly....

Ok, thanks, fingers crossed they open WAW lounges soon, even just as a waiting area

With so many lounges closed, I'm wondering where to get my alky fix, ZAG has a nice lounge (with nondescript gin poured in the back) and the city is nice, but I'd be bevvieless on the way there. I might be in WRO this week and I believe they're still open as usual.

This week, staff have been asked for their feedback to a work schedule for December meaning Basia is hoping to re-open 01DEC. The interpretation being it would be as usual, not a waiting room given the staffing levels demanded. This depends on RP allowing restaurants to re-open for the festive season or some kind of exception for airports.

The ban on restaurants has been extended to 27DEC, unless there is an opt-out I can’t see the lounge re-opening in its previous form.

The only thing is, with Poland not having any bans or quarantine requirements for EU countries (and/or PL citizens from non-EU) there will still be a busy period for Basia. Eg she’s already got 738s on some domestics over the period, therefore there is a case for at least opening it as a waiting room.

It seems no gingerbread this year...

RE-OPENING

I'm happy to report that Basia has come to her senses and she will open Polonez lounge on Tuesday, 24th November- as a *waiting room*.

I hope you’ll post a little update for us chris63?

Basia has applied to have the Regulation preventing F&B changed and she should hear back in a few days. Call me old man sceptical, but I really doubt it will work when there is talk of shutting down the country again.

She should just ignore the law like Katowice, Gdańsk,
Poznan, and Wrocław.

Of course if it doesn’t get changed, then let’s rest the issue that Basia gets she wants from
the Gov when she can’t even receive permission to serve sandwiches...

Here you go my friend 😊

HON circle service is operational, I was offered an escort to the lounge, which I declined, they are providing an escort to the gate, I won’t need to think about boarding time

Business lounge Polonez is just a waiting area but it’s better than nothing 👍

They told me it’s full & normal service onboard in J, let’s see what that currently means...

Here you are !

WAW-FRA Dinner

Very impressive compared to LH, pre Dinner drinks & nuts, I went for the 12yr old Glenfiddich Single Malt, for those that like Gin, they offered Hendricks.

Food was tasty, well presented & linen knapkins..... way better in every respect to LH offerings & a fantastic crew 👍

In Polonez today, pax were bringing in F&B from outside, no one seemed to mind, including the industrious ever present cleaner, compare this to FRA SEN lounges, where one might imagine the consumption of F&B might lead to being dragged off kicking & screaming to the FRAPORT Dungeons....

That’s great. Hendricks and probably Camus VSOP.

This should also mean long haul C is back to normal.

Basia just needs to get the lounge back to how it was in October and she is back to the best CF19 service of any European carrier. It’s basically pre-pandemic “Plus” as the food got better during the pandemic than it was before.

Moreover, I do believe that if you're on a Standard fare you can purchase the P meal for a very reasonable price which is the same as C on EU routes, perhaps without the Spirits but including beer and wine.

Slightly off-topic, but has anyone been in WRO recently?
The Lounge is open daily from 4.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., from 16th November from Monday to Friday and on Sundays from 10.30 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturdays from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (at other times the service is provided in Gate Bar).
Anyone knows what that includes?

This is annoying, as WRO is technically my home airport in Poland, and my flight in January would be only my first chance to visit the lounge - too bad my flight is at 5:20 am

Gate bar is to the right immediately after you come up the stairs from security. I believe they provide you with a free coffee and sandwich/pastry when the lounge is closed
