I'm in MUC T2S Schengen lounge, which is still operating in single lounge mode, though both sides are open for seating (only SEN side is catered).
The beer pipes are turned off and seem to have been for a while (I think they didn't work on my last visit either). Is it just this lounge, or is this the situation in all lounges? I was looking forward to a half decent beer, all that's available as helles is San Miguel (in Bavaria!). Should I stop by the main terminal on my way back it is it a losing proposition?
(At least there's still St. Killian)
Edit: on a closer look, Franziskaner is also non alcoholic version! I didn't notice as I don't drink Weizen. Shame.
only thing worse if it was a Heineken

I'm more familiar with AC lounges in Canada, which have been very crowded since early this year. Lots of discussions about the causes, and AC's overly generous credit card benefits from its revamped loyalty program and its covid-related status extension policies from the last two years are like likely culprits.
Curious if there's a consensus about reason(a) behind LH lounge crowding.
Edit: An hour or so later, the place is deserted!

I'm also here and noticed how crowded it is. Has this been the norm at LH lounges in Germany this year? If so, any theories as to why?

With the specific question of Munich, I wonder if more people are chosing to transfer in Munich over Frankfurt, increasing the occupancy. MUC was always a lot better than FRA, but lately FRA has been more of a lottery especially NS-S transfers...
