Transit without visa at Moscow
I know how the TWOV system work at DME when connecting on a through ticket. But is there any experience of using the facility connecting on separate tickets?
The proposed trip is FRA DME on a one-way Lufthansa ticket, connecting to DME LHR on British Airways. The theory works fine, and it looks fine on Timatic: but i know airlines can get nervous when connections are not on one ticket, and somehow outside their control.
So Lufthansa's view, filtered through its visa-check gate agents, is important - any experience ?

Unlike other carriers, Lufthansa checks and verifies visas by their system rather than checking it physically.
During OLCI, you would be asked to enter information of a valid Russian visa, which you won't have.
So you would not be able to complete online check-in without a valid Russian visa and someone at the airport ( possibly a supervisor ) should override the system in order to accept you.
However, I am not sure of the current LH policy accepting responsibility of transfer passengers without a visa on separate tickets.

I'm guessing no-one will know unless they've tried it!
