Award fuel surcharge made up?
I am trying to book DUS(EW)-LHR(ET)-ADD and somehow a fuel surcharge of 45 Euro (masqueraded as "international surcharge", as always) gets applied even thought neither EW nor ET engage in the shady practice of fuel surcharges. If booked separately no surcharge is added to either flight, but if I combine the two flights into a single booking the EUR 45 surcharge creeps us. Any ideas why this is and what I can do about it? (For obvious reasons I am not inclined to make two separate bookings.)

Unfair practice in the EU , surely not ?
Ask the supplier adding the surcharge to explain ?

Awards are plated on 220 stock and LH can impose surcharges as it wishes. Couldn't price the EW/ET combo, but a ET standalone flight LHR ADD has 48€ in YR:

Airlines want to break the concept of free ticket. It is a "free ticket" but you still have to pay a hefty amount named in a different way like YQ or whatever.
