New SEN issues with LH.com and booking

Hi All,

So after 118 flights this year, I've finally reached Senator Status, and while its all great it caused be quite a few issues already.

1) All my bookings from my LH.com profile have disappeared (I was able to add them via booking reference).
2) The bookings don't show my M&M card number under Passengers, and I can not add it (!)
3) My contact details (email and phone) are gone from the bookings
4) Even though LH.com does show "Senator" at the top of the page, I can not choose my seat (one case I can not choose it at all, and the other they want a payment)
5) To make it even more interesting, I was able to add my new M&M card number via the LH app, which first displayed an error that the name doesn't match, and then still added the card to the booking

P.S. nr 5 didn't help with the seat selection part

Has anyone had similar experience?

Thanks

If you got Senator status right now, then your status is visible in app (and you have card number), but it might be not activated in all the systems yet.
Just it takes 2-3 more days.
If you are urgent on something, you need to call SEN hotline. They should be able to help.

Call the SEN hotline and have them replace the old M&M/FTL (9922xxx or 9920xxx) number with the new SEN (22201xxxx) number. That should do the trick. The app and other online tools are not really effective in purging the old entries.

Regarding point 2, I had this issue recently with LH.com so its not related to your promotion to SEN. I was able to add my FFP on the App. Like you, the field for FFP entry was just not there on desktop LH.com.

Helga's IT again!

I had the same when changing from SEN to HON during a trip. Input the new number for my return travel online check in and ended up completely status-less: no status on boarding pass and luggage allowance reset to basic.

M&M tried to help for 20 mins but could not add it, then suggested I call Swiss ticketing. Swiss said they would have to cancel my check in and offload me from the flight first, but since the flight was overbooked they would not be able to put me back on again. Supervisor at the airport said she had never seen anything like this before and eventually gave up after a lot of typing.

So for the first two flights as HON I was traveling without any listed status on boarding passes or passenger manifests, I must say it was a long time since I was left so alone by FAs onboard a plane, no MdC greeting or use of last name during service (and I was flying longhaul C).

Miles have not appeared after a week now, I will probably have to make a retro claim.

Annoying, but my expectations on LH IT are so low I am not surprised.

That doesn't sound great :(

What about things like Fast Track Security / Business Lounge? Will showing the SEN Card, and BP with M/M status work?

I'm flying tomorrow morning, and I was really looking forward to some of the perks

Lounge will work when you show the card. Fast track: show the card to an attendant if the area is staffed, in my case I got escorted from the check in desk to get through. The status was not in the QR code so any automated check purely based on scanning did not work, to the system I was not affiliated to the M&M program at all, let alone with status.

This exactly happened to me. No one could fix it over the phone, and the First Class Hotline, when I expressed concern that I needed to make a short connection, condescendingly told me that they will know that I'm HON (although I disagree) and know to pick me up.

Was able to fix it at check-in.

Haven't had an issue since, but it basically tainted that entire round trip's boarding passes, so I had to get it fixed on the outbound and inbound.

Ok, so i've managed to find a work around for this :)

I was inspired by the fact that my LH booking for tomorrow still shows M/M status, while when I wanted to choose my seats for my LOT booking for next week, it recognized my SEN status...

So I checked what would happen if I checked the booking via Austrian Airlines, and sure enough was able to access my booking, update my M&M card, which was immediately recognized as Senator, and check-in again (it remember my seat choices from the LH Checkin).

Now I have 4 Red Austrian boarding passes for the LH flights which show LH*G SEN :) While my LH passes still show M/M, hopefully this should allow me to access all of the benefits

Just wanted to write an update, as maybe it will be useful for someone one day.

I’m still stuck at “118 flights for the year”... Assuming that this is short-haul, I don’t envy that, and I hope the IT glitches get fixed soon.

Indeed all intra-EU short haul. Its not as bad as it sounds, as 95% of the time I connect in either FRA, MUC or WAW, it's 4 flights per trip (mostly one or at most two days), which works out to just around one trip per week - and rest of the time I work from home, so its surprisingly manageable :)

Once upon a time you got SEN with 120 segments... (F counted 3x, C 2x). But then the status miles threashhold was 150k.

...and those were the days when the thresholds were lower for those of us living outside of Germany...

Yes, outside of Germany it was 100k, but segment requirements were the same.

The most frequent flyers who fly 100,000* status miles within the a calendar year or 30 Business Class round-trips (60 in Economy Class) in the last calendar year on Lufthansa or any other Star Alliance partners will achieve Senator status.
