Tagesschau: LH canceling all CAI flights...

... For security reasons until further notice.

BA also had their flights canceled a few hours ago.

Lufthansa confirmed earlier that all flights to CAI will resume as normal from this morning (Sunday). LH582 scheduled to operate in a few hours

Reporting contains vague statements about concerns regarding airport security. Whether those concerns have been addressed or whether LH and BA simply have different standards all remains to be seen (or not).

BA has well known issue of aircraft availability for this route. By coincidence this security threat affecting BA only happens on the same day the service was going to a 787.

If I was a cynic where BA are concerned I would suggest that while this route is normally operated by a A321 with long haul config, in the next week it was to be subbed by a A21N which is fast becoming one of the most disliked planes in the BA fleet in Euroconifg and you could guarantee there would be a lot of disgruntled passengers.

Not of course that I'm a cynic!
