New catering concept trial in Domestic DE lounges

NUE is the trial for a new concept in SEN starting today. All dishes a la carte except breakfast and brought to you by the (very friendly) staff.

Open sandwich with ham
Couscous salad in a jar
Bell pepper soup

Bread in the buffet plus the usual sweets and cakes.

Interesting, didn't they emasculate the catering in non hub German lounges only 6 months ago?

No hate speech please: the only word I recognise is ENHANCE, by customer feedback of course.

Helga is not having a good day. LH144 D-ACKI, CR9 is disabled on the runway. All arrivals stopped.

Lets hope the FR flight has enough fuel in the tanks for its hold.

RYR diverting (to STR?) https://www.flightradar24.com/RYR9QT/211c4c4e MOL doesn't allow them to carry anything above legal minimums.
TK in the same hold pattern now: https://www.flightradar24.com/THY1509/211c17b7

Indeed. MOL diverted.
TK landed.

Anyone who goes to the lounge now will think my post is wrong, but the staff have decided to put out the buffet because they expect a lot of pax. In the end, I think it will be OK.

There's an English lady working in the lounge in NUE. What a gem!!! She's absolutely lovely.

I won't post her first name (as shown on her name tag) in case she writes to FT HQ and asks for posts to be put in the virtual shredder!

NUE SEN Lounge is small, so the concept might work. Cannot imagine this sort of waiter service at FRA SEN Lounge.

PS. 'Nice' start of your week with the runway mess...

Implication is very much domestic, non-HUB lounges.

Indeed. Helga has applied appropriate lubrication and things are flowing smoothly.

There was an organ courier in the lounge (ET Gold...LEGACY!) and even he seems content.

That is a great start of the week for D and indeed for any average FTer (more time for G&T/beer/wine indulgence needless to say...).

Sounds like I will hate it even more than the last enhancement.

Hope the lounge does not get worse than the Drer Lounge downstairs, or I will have to fly KL more often.

Are the salads still self-serve?

The two NUE lounges are actually not that small and a la carte food would probably be appreciated if they served something decent. But a sandwich and soup? Seriously?

Agreed. That reminds me of one of the lounges at BHX (specifically the one used by SN): la carte menu with the only choices being fish finger buttie and leek soup, which begs the question [what's the bloomin' point]

Star of Bombay... hook it to my veins!

Strange trip. Woke up this morning, denied breakfast benefits in the most ultimate way possible... Hilton NUE now not a Hilton!

As far as I remember, it was sold by Park Hotels & Resorts earlier this year.

Concerning the Star of Bombay: I very much welcomed the rollout of the Star to all SEN and J lounges last year. ^

Hope you will be on your way soon.
