LH 511 EZE-FRA Changed from 747-8 to 747-4, Downgraded from F-C. What compensation?

My flight 511 from EZE to FRA tomorrow, June 3, was changed from 747-800 to 747-400. I was in First Class "O" class. I have been downgraded to Business "I" class. What should I expect when I get to the airport tomorrow? If nothing is offered automatically what should I request as compensation. I know there is the EU261 rule. I also read something about Euro 4000/2000/1000 compensation depending what fare class, though this was from 2 years ago so wondering if it has been updated. I then continue on from FRA to PVG in first class on LH. Should I request compensation in EZE or wait until I am in the First Class Terminal/Lounge and have an agent there help me.

Thank you for any advice!

Its the flat 1000€ you saw on the other thread. You can contact the F hotline (its +54 1153542333 in ARG) and ask to be rebooked via BOG if you need F. They will also know how you will get the 1000€.

According to EU261 you are entitled to 75% of the price of the ticket of the affected leg.
As you are on an award this calculation can be quite interesting.
Probably LH will offer you a fixed cash amount.

Thank you for your help. I tried calling the Argentina first class number and it says it is no longer in service. The hotel concierge called the LH airport office and the LH agent that answered said that there is nothing they can do and I'm in Business so that should be good enough. Tried called the US LH First Class line and the agent said there I am entitled to 1000 downgrade package but he doesn't know who I speak to. For LH having such a great product they sure don't handle a downgrade well. Maybe I will be surprised when I get to the airport and they will have everything ready for me. I also asked if I could be re-routed on the GRU flight since there was one seat on that flight and the answer was no.

Doesn't sound very premium. I hope you get rebooked.

By the way, €1000 is peanuts for what they used to offer.

The offer used to be 4000Ä flat, now it's 4/2/1000 for F/A/O.

Call German First Class Services .+49 69 86799444‬.
If anybody can do there something for you, then it's this place.

But by my experience, for them O booking class is not very imprtant...
Will keep fingers crossed for you!

Yes not important, but happy to dump seats via Star partners?! So if not important, is that desperation?

Very nice agents in EZE. They apologized for the downgrade. Told me they have blocked the seat next to me (I wonít hold me breath), will provide first class service on ground such as escort through immigration and security, still have seats reserved in lounge, and 800 euros compensation voucher (they said I deal with that in FRA). I mentioned I thought it was 1000 and they said it changed, but wouldnít give me anymore information about when. Is it ideal, no....but Iím just glad I didnít have to ask for it.

Iíll enjoy my connection in first on A380 to PVG. Hopefully they donít change that plane...lol.

Its low season there now, so your seat blocking should work, do let us know.
That compensation is pathetic

800 Euro as downgrade compensation is close to insulting. I feel with you.

Often this is for F and A more than you are entitled to. (EU261)
If not, than you can still request the difference.

Did you call the number in Germany?
Usually rebooking is no problem if there is still place available.

Calling the F line in Germany ought to have resulted in offers of rebooking or compensation at the pax choice, F is F wether one paid with miles or cash

The 2 of us booked in first class where given upper deck bulkhead seats both with an empty seat next to it. There were no more empty seats. They were very nice to place 2 small children (3ish) right behind us. The parents let the kids run around and pull everything out of seat-back pockets and throw it up in the air. Flight attendants quickly tried to put an end to this. Was a good flight overall. Wines were not that good. It was good to not drink and wait for FCT and First on FRA-PVG. Was only passenger on that flight and was spoiled!

Thank you for everyone's help.
