Oh, I wasn’t paying enough attention I guess. Saw some exec bonus listed in my account and didn‘t realize it was for status miles and not award miles. My
apologies.

LH did make this kinda complicated, even for regular flyers, and the mess after the change probably didn‘t help either ...

I think they would rather have it simpler, for the sake of the LH IT, but then they probably wouldn't be able to squeeze the system as much ...

Well, as per the mam website, executive bonus only applies on revenue based mileage credit... (for SQ)

600k in two years mean 300k per year.

If you go to real far destinations like EZE or SIN it will net you around 45-50k HON Miles per roundtrip in A/F with the feeder flights (EU-FRA-EZE/SIN).
So you need approx. 12 trips.

If you score those flights at 4500-5000 € each, it is 60.000€ like above mentioned. 0.10€ per HON Mile.
30k€ per year and approx. one trip every second month.

It is not that bad if you got the time and the funds for it.

And flying in F/A also secures you 600k miles you can spend on positioning flights or other good flights

Not if you use the good A fares you mentioned and buy the flights on lh.com. Awards miles will be about half the 600k then ...

Yes, the very best A fares earn less than half the award miles they used to

Well, I bought already 5 A Fares this year (not through lh.com though) and they all earned the same HON and award miles.

Just two weeks ago on my trips to EZE for the FRA-EZE-FRA legs 2x 21417 + Exec.

May I ask which ticket stock it was that made that happen?

Worth it to accrue extra HON Miles?

In 2018 I accrued approx 320k HON miles.
Let’s suppose, in 2019 I hypothetically accrue another 450k HON miles, putting me 170k HON miles in excess of the status requirement.

Does that mean that in 2020 I need accrue only 130k HON miles to extend my status?

And if not, is there any other reason to deposit these points into M&M except for HON selections?

They do not roll over

select benefits and bonus miles are the only reason (like one HON benefit is award guarantee but that obviously requires those miles in your MaM account).

BTW, you would not need 300k in 2020 to extend but 600k in 20/21.

I see. So in theory if I accrue 400k HON miles in 2020, only then would my accrual burden in 2021 be reduced by 100k?
