again just talking within EU

I usually fly to ATH a few times a year, and absolutely do LH/LX, no way am I flying A3/BA with their billionaire prices and neither do I want to fly from the middle of nowhere either (I live 15 mins away from LHR).

I even booked BCN with LH, BA wanted stupid money on the afternoon flights when I want to fly for a weekend trip and they have the monopoly direct out of LHR so can do pretty much what they want. So I am really happy with LH/LX, I mean talk about high standards, they even refund you what you buy at the airport if you don't have catering on board!

Try that with BA, they'd rather starve you on board!

I regularly fly C with their crazy cheap advance fares if you are flexible on dates, if its more than like 50 GBP more than Y, I just book Y, but my current trip is all C.

Yes, LX J catering is not what it used to be Intra EU but it’s lots better than LH catering IMO.
At least with BoB you can buy something when you are hungry, but with LH you get a candy bar and some water on a 3+ hour flight, well, thanks for nothing.

So much digital ink spilled over nothing. I was just saying IF BA is cheaper, no reason not to take it non stop vs another carrier with a stop. The IF there is the operative word.

I’m headed to RAK in a few weeks. BA business ended up being cheaper than LH/LX businsss. No brainer. End.

That’s true but of course you should have had a nuclear Sandwich & an assortment of beverages in LH Y....

Quite possibly...... the ‘use by date ‘ is around 20 years.

And the ingredients list is interesting reading & can take as long to read as a good novel.

It can be chilling reading. You're ingesting such a cocktail of chemicals that it makes a company like Nestlé look like a BIO food specialist.
Oddly, I do have to say that the business class offering of AirEuropa within Europe offers very healthy salad based meals, which were miles better than any hot options.

I think actually hot food for LCA. I don't mind a candy bar for AMS-MUC that much.

Just wondering, how long does it take LH to respond catering complaints, a relative of mine has flown IST-FRA, late December on J and got a sandwich + soft drink ( no alcoholic beverages and no hot meal ) and we had filed a complaint form via sending an e-mail to the address on top the Feedback Form as the form is broken and do not accept phone numbers from Turkey. It has been around 15 business days since we complained but we haven't heard from Lufthi yet.

Weeks, unless LH group SEN or HON, they currently have the usual complaints to deal with plus the ongoing catering debacle...

It seems now that the fat lady has sung and LSG in Europe is sold the truck drivers have made a mysterious instant recovery from permanent sick outs. Catering is back to normal service levels on all routes.

Funnily enough my MUC-KBP flight last night was not catered in both cabins. The explanation given was that the catering truck could not make it to the aircraft. passengers (at least in business class where I was seated) seemed to be perfectly calm and OK about the situation, and the Purser was most apologetic for the mix up.

What I found surprising about the trip though is that I got a menu on the KBP-FRA flight on the outbound. I thought that only longer flights got a menu and a choice of meals on LH. My previous experience on LH was on the KBP-MUC route back in October as the entire cabin got a salad (which was the same salad on both the outbound and inbound). The only time I got a menu before was on flights to Portugal. I was also surprised with the quality of meals on the shorter FRA-CDG and CDG-MUC flights. The portions are small but the quality was excellent.
