Be thankful you weren't diverted.

The OP mentioned there was no beer available to accompany his sandwich, so I doubt he would have had a concern over diverting due to drunk pax on his flight.

It's a UK bound flight. Nothing would surprise me if booze is involved. So, yeah, whatever.

Absolutely & fortunate it was FRA flights, had it been Ex MUC, probably against the Law, no Beer to go with Sandwiches

Early morning in Germany and this made my day already.

Yes, beer is considered part of our diet here and no beer is definitely not an option. MUC without beer is like F-class without champagne. Then again, what LH serves by the name of "beer" is not considered an appropriate choice here either.

And just like the Beer, LH don’t always serve what experienced frequent flyers consider to be appropriate Champagne in F

Fortunately, there are some of us here pushing to keep LH standards up

It's probably the alcohol at work ....

Indeed. I was once on a MAN FRA flight, in C no less, and there was no meal for me. Not even a sandwich ripped from the hands of an economy-class passenger.

So they gave me a bottle of champagne. I guess UK passengers have a certain reputation ......

If only they would stock a bit more choice of beer, for while Warsteiner is perfectly drinkable as a Feierabend Bier there are so many better beers here (Köstritzer, Kolsch, etc.). And the microbrew craze is beginning to take hold here too (Ruhrpott Bier in Oberhausen).

No beer to go with the sandwich. No sandwich to go with the champagne. Sure it isn't Lufty's revenge for your LX F adventure, after all you are known to them to bring your own catering

It was, it was. Some time ago but it was champagne.

And the rub is I had to give it away as I had a connecting flight at FRA and an appointment with the security team.

BTW You've no idea how awkward it is to give away a bottle of wine.
Had to do the same thing when SWISS gave me a birthday bottle and a bag of those chocolate squares.
