Wine & Champagne in Lufthansa First?

Can anyone tell me what kind of Champagne they're pouring in F from N.A. to FRA.

It's been a year since I flew LH F, and the bubbly wasn't very good.

Also, which Bordeaux are they serving?

Planning to down 8 bottles again?

I believe they serve Tattinger in F though I'll let the others give a more accurate answer.

From three weeks ago. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics.

Both of these were quite nice...

As a public service, could you please tell us the date and flight so we will know which flight to avoid.

Thanks for that SFO777. I'll be happy if they serve the Taittenger CdC.

The other wines don't look very promising. Too bad LH aren't willing to spend more than $30 a bottle for red wines in F.

And don't worry, I'm flying out of DFW - not DEN.

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know if LH serves different Champagne/wines on different aircraft?

Would they serve the lower-grade Taittenger Prelude on an old 333 in F, as opposed to serving the CdC on the upgraded 747 or 380?

Prelude on 747-8 IAD-FRA.

When I saw a bottle of Smirnoff vodka next to the caviar on the cart I though I was in coach on Tarom.

On my DEN-FRA flight last month, they had Grey Goose as well...

I was the only one in F, I wonder if they decided to hold back the goose and offer just Smirnoff. On my flight caviar and vodka were on the cart.

Of course the reality is that the "caviar" LH serves is farmed paddlefish or spoonbill roe - which is dirt-cheap compared to the real thing.

I never touch the stuff. Or any farmed fish for that matter.

For US flights it's Alfred Gratien most of the times. It's a friction of the price of the Taittinger Rose and saves LH money while the Taittinger looks nice on the menu...

That's something only UA would do

Yesterday in a full F cabin on 747-800, including 4 'VIP's', it was Smirnoff Red label

Cheap Champagne, very cheap Vodka & cheap Caviar, is there a pattern forming here in Lufthansa First Class ?
