Not going to get into the topic of the mods, as that's against the TOS, however what's clear is that both the MAN and LHR lounges are rubbish. They're neither up to the standards of their Star Alliance peers (at LHR) nor even up to the standards of British Airways at T5, whom the Galleries First has actually arguably improved due to Rona.

yes although they have recently had this new approach to only let you in with “reservation” meaning paying customers. Keep insisting or ask for manager. This place is a disgrace 🙄

Another low point, hard to imagine they could manage that, LH of course pay & ‘reserve’ some space accordingly, insisting or asking for the Manager would be the right approach, add to that ask them to call the LH duty Manager

Passengers with status/business class tickets take away seats for paying guests. So they try to send them away :-) Happened twice last month being Senator. I just kept standing around the desk discussing with them - at some point they were annoyed enough to let me in

Disgusting. I hope you complained in the strongest terms to LH. In turn, LH should make it clear to whichever third world outfit that runs these lounges (the BHX lounge is crap too) that they are in breach of contract. Favouring booze tourists over status pax just because some twit has worked out they get a few pounds extra for booze tourists is a disgrace.

Lounges routinely turn away PC-type guests when they are busy - but I'm guessing there's a much looser contract between lounge operaors and the providers of this type of perk. Most likely pay less than the airlines, too; so PC guests are admitted on a more or less standby basis.

Thank you all for the feedback. We haven't gone the LH route to the USA since last Dec - when the lounge was not open. We're familiar with the 'offerings' and as long as we can get a coffee and some yellow gloop on toast or dead pig on barm cake we'll be happy
A poor lounge still beats 'no lounge at all' when we fly with SAS.

It seems unlikely they turn away airline guests: there'll be some sort of contractual obligation to look after them, and they carry with them a payment from the airline.

Do agree though that a lounge is better than no lounge…..
