OS cancelled HKG, SFN, SYZ, LNZ and HAV

I do have a booking with OS to HKG (LX marketed, metal mix of LX and OS) in December. If I am not mistaken under EU261 OS will be responsible for the rebooking ?

They will usually accomodate you on LH group, *A or if all fails OAL (with whom they have to sign a reprotection agreement if its this far out). As per EU261 its new comparable alternative or your money back.

Thanks. I just got off the phone with LX and I got rebooked via ZRH on LX metal. The original booking was VIE-ZRH-HKG//HKG-VIE. I was much looking forward to the return as it is a day flight and I heard so many good things about OS soft product. As it was a P class booking I got to be on LX if I want to get some miles (LH not an option).

Bummer... After SK withdrawing ARN-HKG, one less *A morning arrival into HKG.

It is good practice to wait to rebook, because personal things may come up in your life, which may force you to abandon the trip.
Without the rebooking, you could then get a 100% refund of the ticket costs.

HKG-Europe on LH group won't sell out so quickly.

True, PE prices in LH group are pretty much the same price when you fly Qatar in C!

If VIE-HKG changes to red-eye, perhaps the business is viable, as per the actions of LH, BA many years ago.

Not that i disagree, but I like the late afternoon VIE departure as I can connect from elsewhere in Europe.

Big big shame, I was looking forward to using OS to go to Hong Kong. But it makes sense to pull back if they are really losing money on it and concentrate on what works for them.

I enjoyed my sole HKG-VIE flight a few months back.

The only thing was that we departed from the midfield concourse and not near the other *A carriers (I know there aren't dedicated gates per se, but I figured we would depart somewhat close to the various *A lounges).

What has happened to OS97 VIE-MIA in November? It's supposed to be operating 4 weekly but I can't see it for sale anywhere.

Has it also been cancelled?

davidcito Jul 9, 2018 10:02 am

MIA has been turned to seasonal (summer-only)

But Flightmapper has it running from November still?
