LH introduces pyjamas and mattresses in Business Class
Passengers on selected long-haul flights lasting ten and a half or more hours can now relax even more with the new "Dream Collection"
From now on, Lufthansa Business Class passengers on long-haul flights to and from South Africa, Latin and South America and the West Coast of the USA can enjoy an even more relaxed night's sleep. The Lufthansa Dream Collection makes it possible! In addition to a new pillowcase and a large, warm blanket, a comfortable mattress topper makes for beautiful dreams. In addition, our passengers can make themselves comfortable on night flights with the new sleep shirt from Van Laack. The soft and padded mattress topper was developed especially for Lufthansa in cooperation with the renowned German bed manufacturer "Paradies". While the upper side is made of 100 percent cotton, the underside is made of non-slip terry cloth. This enables an ideal air exchange, which prevents strong heat accumulation. A similarly soft filling is provided by the new blanket and pillow, which provide pleasant warmth and comfort. Both the blanket and the pillowcase are designed in Lufthansa's new brand design. Since Lufthansa is also setting standards in terms of environmental friendliness, the plastic packaging of the blanket was replaced by a paper banderole. The increase in sleeping comfort in Business Class is symbolic of Lufthansa's premium standard. Last December, the airline was the first western airline to receive the five-star seal from Skytrax, the British management consultancy specialized in aviation. The Dream Collection will be successively introduced on all other long-haul flights. From June the Dream Collection from Germany will also be available on selected Asian flights. The other long-haul flights will receive the new blankets and pillowcases from autumn 2018. https://preview.thenewsmarket.com/Pr...509705_v2.JPEG https://preview.thenewsmarket.com/Pr...509707_v2.JPEG https://newsroom.lufthansagroup.com/...1-baf70f9f6d22 |
LH introduces pyjamas and mattresses in Business Class
From now on, select Lufthansa long-haul flights (10.5h or more) now feature the new “Dream Collection” – a larger, warmer blanket, a new pillowcase, a comfortable mattress pad, and a new “sleep shirt” from Van Laack.
Lufthansa’s long-haul flights in Business Class to and from South Africa, Latin America, South America, and the West Coast of the United States feature the new Dream Collection and enhanced amenities ensuring passengers enjoy relaxing sleep. Starting in June, the Dream Collection will also be available on select flights to/from Asia. The remaining flights will feature new blankets and pillowcases later in the year. https://newsroom.lufthansagroup.com/...1-baf70f9f6d22 |
This is great news, I really prefer changing into PJs on the long haul flights!

An improvement is an improvement... this is definitely a step in the right direction!

Tiny step in the right direction.
But with more and more airlines going to all aisle access the LH product looks pretty ancient - even with a matress. |
Darn.. DEN-MUC is 10.5 but DEN certainly isn't west coast. I'm assuming this would not contain them..

You won't get PJs, just a sleep shirt. :( A comfortable mattress will be welcome. A photo of a mattress on VFT looks nice.
https://www.vielfliegertreff.de/luft...ml#post2604590 BTW, its making an appearance on all flights longer than 10h30m that fly at night. Examples on the VFT thread are SJO-FRA, LAX-MUC, DFW-FRA, PTY-FRA etc. This is contrary to the initial announcement that it will only be ex MUC/FRA ... |
No mattresses and PJs on MCO-FRA, which is a real night flight leaving MCO at 20:01 but just a tad too shorter. Many pax skip dinner on board and probably sleep as long as pax on a 17:00 departure from the west coast and would appreciated the new amenities.

The matress seems to be a thicker blanket with a very thin padding to level out the bumps. Kinda like my makeshift solution: get a second blanket from the stash above the bulkhead row and make your own matress ;)

But will it be *only* on night flights? So no Gemany-West Coast flights? You could argue that MUC-SFO is a "night flight". Arriving at 7.05pm in California is 4.05am in Munich. Most people will sleep on that flight.
“The Dream Collection will be successively introduced on all other long-haul flights. From June the Dream Collection from Germany will also be available on selected Asian flights. Mattresses and new blankets and pillows but no shirts yesterday on FRA-SAN.

https://www.vielfliegertreff.de/luft...ml#post2604590 Judging by the fact that the PJ pants in F are horrible (and such a difference from the shirt) I don’t think we’re missing much. |

And you can imagine the beancounter that came up with the "0.5" in 10.5! Pretty lame considering that the hard product looks to be WAY behind the competition. |
