Guesting EW Passenger

Please correct me, if I am wrong, but as far as I have seen, a similar question has not been asked elsewhere so far.

So, here is the scenario; I am LH SEN travelling intra-European C (LH) out of DUS and would like to guest a completely status-less friend who is on a EW flight with a similar schedule that same day.

Will I be able to guest him in or not? I know that he has to leave the lounge together with me.

Access rules on the M&M website are a bit fuzzy in my opinion.

Furthermore, my own experience has also been a bit surprising, since back in January, I have been granted access to the CGN SEN lounge for my family and myself, when we were flying EW short-haul (SMART fare) and I feel that flying LH should even come with somewhat more "entitlement" to guest, but then EW is of course not a * carrier, yet Lufthansa Group.

Guest in SMART should be OK. BASIC is no go.

Access rules say LH SEN can bring in one companion; EW is considered a Miles & More program partner airline, hence yes, you will be able to guest your friend.

It's always nice to be pleasantly surprised, you shouldn't be surprised though:
  • Passengers who have booked the SMART or BEST fare and who are in possession of a Miles & More HON Circle Member or Senator card are entitled to use the Lufthansa Senator and Business Lounges on the day of their departure.

Thanks @andywaw!

So my friend's booking class with EW does not have any impact (not sure, if he is on BASIC or SMART, no BEST on the route in question)?

Just to clarify: I was not astonished to be granted access to the SEN lounge for myself and ONE companion, but found it pleasantly surprising that the rule to additionally guest your under-age children also applied, when flying EW (in one of the relevant booking classes of course).

No, his booking class doesn't matter - your SEN status matters here.

In understand that BASIC does not give you any access. Would be surprised if a companion in BASIC would be allowed
