WAW closed due to landing incident

As per above, Okęcie (WAW) currently shut further to an emergency landing involving LOT flight 3294 from Kraków. I'm currently at the airport awaiting the last service to Gdańsk but it seems that things are not going to get moving soon (LOT just told me that operations should restart just before midnight).

This type of failure on Q400 is so common that there are whole meme pages about it, I remember one in polish from before I deleted my account: https://pl-pl.facebook.com/typowy.dash/v

I guess than when writing from an airport on a mobile device, one can make some inconsequential mistakes like this. Also one can have an attitude and post just to point out this inconsequential mistake rather than being grateful that one take the time to create a thread.

SAS had 3 of these (?) incidents with their Q400s in a timespan of two months and then got rid of the aircraft (at least from mainline). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dash_8...gear_incidents

Unrelated to this incident as such but a LH's 319 (with 47 passengers on-board, as reported by the local news) has returned to Kraków-Balice airport (my apologies, Międzynarodowy Port Lotniczy im. Jana Pawła II Kraków–Balice, otherwise @TPJ will tell me off ) for an 'emergency landing' (again according to the local news) earlier today and roughly 40 minutes after take-off (smell of smoke in the cabin, apparently).

Totally OT - fairly poor load factor I would say... Normally LH is fairly full out of KRK (aka Międzynarodowy Port Lotniczy im. Jana Pawła II Kraków–Balice)...

And I am really glad nobody was even injured in these accidents.

No cancellations? I guess with a lot of their aircraft parked or doing charters over winter its not such an issue.

Those Dash really are awful. Rickety. Just awful.

Indeed! I remember once queuing for security outside (!) in the snowy weather before a Sky Europe's flight to Rome!
