The FCL A in FRA was originally designed to work in the same way as the FCLs in MUC, with an entrance on the Schengen level with the actual lounge upstairs on the same level as non-Schengen departure gates. LH's plan was for passengers departing from Z gates to leave the lounge on the upper level and walk to the departure gate. Unfortunately the authorities did not allow LH to have passport control within the lounge.
I did go through passport control already actually before heading back to A since I had already gone to the J lounge in terminal Z at the time. I didn't go through any check points leaving A but the agents did hold onto my passport since entry of the A lounge.

How does that help the OP ?

He stated he arrived at A so walking up to Z, how is he going to chill out in FCL A with no entrance to it at Z ?

I think oliver2002 was replying to a question from wfiring12 who asked about flying LAX-FRA-BCN and not to the OP’s question.

Escort is nice, but will not help you cut immigration lines. In BKK among others, the escort guides you to the priority lane/passport control and picks you up when you have cleared the formalities. With other words, having a LH representative at the passport control is not the proper remedy. Proper remedy is to have a dedicated passport control/security check as it is foreseen in the FCT among others (which raises questions not to be debated here about the proper and democratic allocation of public resources).

,,, As you suggest, government agencies are wary of being seen throwing resources at making the lives of fat-cats easier. And where a "priority lane" for immigration is set up, the facility is often badly managed: single-server queues get halted by difficult cases, and/or clogged up by nationals insisting on premium treatment when they'd be better off in the regular multi-server lines (try Istanbul for that!).

Yes, MIA is almost ironic in this respect too. *G so-called "Gold Tracks" are actually the lanes for passengers with infants/kids, the ederly and the disabled. Those lanes are not only a punishement, but also an education on the meaning of "slow".
