Lh772 31/10

Anyone know the reasons for huge delay & aircraft swap ?

LH772 FRA- BKK delayed from 21.40 on 31/10 to 08.00 on 1/11

Aircraft scheduled A380 but replacement A343

Actual time of departure 11.15 on 1/11 with ETA BKK 03.25 2/11

D-AIMH, MI, MJ, and MK are grounded right now of which two are for sure in checks. MH is in DRS for an IL check.

So if one of the A380 goes tech there is no alternative/backup.

I'm taking LH772 this saturday, so they better fix things...

Thanks for this information

I have friends on the long delayed LH773, they have no LH status & LH have not been helpful.

Wishing you good luck for Saturday

I was booked on LH773 yesterday. Got an email 27h before departure, that I was rebooked to TG790. That means, my departure were 40 minutes later and I arrived my final destination 30 minutes later than originally booked. I've heard later, that LH773 was cancelled.

As far as I'm concerned a very good example for an excellent irreg handling by Lufthansa.

I think you mean TG920 (TG970 is BKK-ZRH).

It was TG970. Originally booked BKK-FRA-LUX. Rebooked to BKK-ZRH-LUX.

And again

LH772 from yesterday, 2nd December delayed to 0800 3rd. Unlucky on this route or is it the first to get sacrificed if they are short of A380 ?

Probably several factors coming into play, including the 9 hours ground time in BKK which would give them a decent chance of making up a significant delay before coming back to FRA.

This might be why they were short of an A380.

A Lufthansa Airbus A380-800, registration D-AIMF performing flight LH-440 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Houston,TX (USA), was enroute at FL360 about 550nm west of Shannon (Ireland) when the crew decided to reduce engine #2 (Trent 970, inboard left) to idle due to loss of engine oil and to return to Frankfurt.

I made a transfer at FRA on 2 Dec in the evening and noticed that LH772 to BKK was postponed until 8 AM the following day, so clearly there are some A380 issues/a shortage now.
