Best way to collect 60 status miles...

Hello everybody

I need some help: I just calculated that I will be 60 status miles short of obtaining Senator status with Miles and More at the end of this year:
- By Dec. 12th I will have reached 86940 status miles
- I can then exchange 20.000 award miles to 10.000 status miles, adding up 96940.
- and I received an email recently from Miles and More saying that they will give me Senator status if I collect 97.000 by December 15th (thus gifting me 3.000 miles)

This means that I will be 60 status miles short!!!
What is the best way to solve this?
Does anybody know if I can buy exchange additional award miles into status miles, on top of the 20K -> 10K exchange?
Is there any other great trick to get this small amount of status miles WITHOUT actually travelling? I will not have the time to take an additional flight until Dec 15th.
Any advice is highly appreciated!
Thanks!!

I've tried that, but for whatever reason, I can't seem to book any trains on the Lufthansa website. When I try e.g. QDU to FRA, or QDU to QFB (Dusseldorf train station to Freiburg station) it tells me that "there are no available flights" (even though it initially even displays a price)

Not sure why it doesn't work.

LH no longer allows booking of train trips independent of an actual flight.

Either pay for an upgrade of an existing segment so that you earn more status miles on it or find the time for an additional flight.

If upgrades won't work, I'd suggest going for a cheap direct turnaround. Depending on your location, EW or LO may be good options.

That's right, LH is probably monitoring here and few other sites and plugged that hole we all have enjoyed for some time... Thank you to all who have been boasting about it here and in other places...

Exchange award miles at the 5:1 offer (apart from the Select 2:1)?

(where's my mail about 3k gift? :P )

Edit: if your home address matches this, take a chance on that?

If you are anywhere close to Poland (or within easy reach by some lowcost), I can recommend LOT, their domestic fares are laughably small. You can probably get around 20-25 eur O/W ticket from Warsaw to Gdansk or somewhere.

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions.

Question:

[QUOTE=PAX_fips;28997708]Exchange award miles at the 5:1 offer (apart from the Select 2:1)?

Can you confirm that this is possible? (i.e. to do the exchange for 2-1 AND the 5-1 exchange?)

I've never heard of M&M give anybody Senator status for 97,000 status miles. Are you sure this will be in addition to exchanging award miles for status miles? 60 miles is too small to miss for Senator status. Can you not fly shorthaul somewhere cheap to make sure you collect enough status miles?

If you tell us where you are located we potentially could come up with some suggestions.

According to the OP's profile the country of residence is CH. ZRH-STR-ZRH in December may be booked for 131.50 CHF and earns 312 status miles including executive bonus.

I'm close to SEN-hood (again), no email. Also, CH.

But I was crazy enough to actually book enough flights to qualify "normally".. silly me
