Miles & More Senator requalification

Hello everyone,

I made Senator last year, my status is valid until Feb 2021. I was told I need another 100k status miles in either 2019 or 2020 to get my status extended by another 2 years.

So I just achieved 100k status miles during this year, expecting to get an extension.

Miles & More have changed their programme, I am really wondering whether or not my Senator status will extend because of the requalification target I reached this year.

When I rang the Senator hotline today, the call center person wanted to tell me that I need to requalify during the 2nd year only, and no such option exists to make it with 100k miles either in year one or two. I am really confused.

Can someone share some light please?

Regards,
HxK

You have requalified until Feb 2023.
The years 2020 and 2021 are dead years (except for LTSEN points).

F4freeJunior is right, if your status is valid until Feb 2021 and you requalify in 2019, you will get SEN until Feb 2023.

BUT: The requalification process will run around November 2020. At that time you will get the 2 eVouchers and the new date will be shown (02/2023).

So good news: You are requalified already until 02/2023. Bad news: You won‘t see it before around 11/2020.

2020 flights don't count towards LTSEN points ... or do they? I thought until 2020 it's only the heavenly stars that counts?

Question Please help me work out when to renew SEN!

I've renewed my SEN until Feb 2022. Normally I would have tried to renew in 2020 to get SEN until Feb 2024.

With the new system, am I correct that 2020 is a completely dead year for me in terms of status earning? In which case, I take it that I then need to renew in 2021. Am I correct?

Thanks

Seems like that.
As exclusion is clearly published for existing HON Circle members only. But HON had 2years requal. period anyway.
At another side, requalification durind 2020 may also be ok? I recommend to wait few weeks and then see what app will show for requalification

Do I understand this correctly that it doesn’t matter if I requalify next year (I did my 125k this year) as the two year duration will be void with the program switch?

I’m completely confused.

Right now the M&M app tells me I’m Senator until Feb 28 2022. I was hoping I could extend that for one more year by exceeding the 100k again in 2020 before the switch kicks in.

My bolding.
That's what I'm trying to work out. I'm assuming not at the moment, but if it is in my interest to do 100k in 2020 I will. If not, I will prioritise BA and Flying Blue in 2020 (although to be fair, I don't have a lot of choice with who I fly with and tend to have flying split across the three alliances).

Same here.

If there’s no point in qualifying again in 2020 I may as well try to hit Platinum (currently Gold) on FB in 2020. I’m already nearly requalified for BA EC Gold (period starts in September). Or I may give Etihad a try.

New SEN new FT number

Just got a change from FTL to SEN today and thus a new card number. However, I went to book with it today and there seems to be some either name association or other problems as it’s telling me to “contact a Lufthansa service center” for full functionality of the card. Anyone else run into these issues when just getting gold? Thanks!

It takes around a week or so before your first SEN card gets full "visibility" in the online/booking system (LX thrones seats for free etc.).

In your situation, you can extend your SEN status in 2020 for another two years = until Feb 2024.

In 2020 the rules for extending Status remain unchanged. The two year duration for status extension will be changed starting from 2021. Those who manage to extend their status before 2021 will keep it extended under the "old rules".
