Why CleanTechFlyer? The CleanTech Hub is our competence center for innovative climate protection technologies and bundles airline know-how with impulses from the global start-up and science scene. The CleanTech Hub is already driving forward more than 80 sustainability projects ¬ all with the goal of more sustainable air traffic. In the future, the D-AIVD will carry this message – that the Lufthansa Group is committed to making flying more sustainable day after day – into the world.
Back to painting: Currently, it is difficult to find free capacities for repainting aircraft – and that throughout Europe. Lufthansa has therefore taken the opportunity to present one of its latest additions in the reduced design of sustainability, with a white tail unit, dark blue crane and this particular lettering on our currently most sustainable long-haul aircraft in Lufthansa’s fleet.
When will the CleanTechFlyer go on its first flight? First, the aircraft will be refurbished in Frankfurt. After that, it will go into intercontinental service from Munich.

It seems the aircraft was not painted due to the lack of paintshop capacity, so they covered the tail in a white foil as a quick fix.
