Thank you for your reply,
Shame that seat selection and check-in is so clunky with LOT, I would've hoped as it's not peak summer season yet maybe the flight would not have been so full.
I'll just hope for the best, but do what is necessary

I have found EF seatmaps less and less useful. Probably the only thing you can be sure of, if it says the seat is occupied, it is occupied.
But it says seats are blocked which are not, seats are paid which are not, even seats are available which are not bookable even for pay for a given pax.

I'd only do this in an "extreme" circumstance though. Like being placed in the nightmare rows 10-11 where there are no windows
Realistically, I don't think I would pay to call them for a seat change, considering I've already paid £16 for a seat. I just hope they fix their dodgy website, as in my opinion their hard product is pretty good.

EF pulls the seatmap without any reference and displays the result. LO is showing you how they have assigned the cabin using Altea Theoretical Seating and what choices they will allow you based on the background they have on your specific case.
FWIW here is what amadeus is showing me: (row 1-4 business, 5-7 blocked, probably for PE)

On Amadeus 9B and C are also blocked. Hm.
I wonder what the load factor on the flight is, would it be possible to check?

9 B & are available for reservation against payment. EF pulls its data from Gallileo.
Loads are not on the public domain.

I am normally more active over on the British Airways forum and loads are more easily checked on the basis of how many ticket buckets are left. (etc. J9 Y3 U4)

Since mid-March 2022 all European routes only have Y and C. There’s no PE on any LOT flights anymore within Europe, only on long haul and even then on a feeder you’re in Y irrespective of destination.

Wish they would stop marketing it when you try to buy a flight then, and make the choices only "Eco" and "Business"

Dropping it on short haul makes sense as there is now two distinct service classes making service easier.

The number of seats you can choose is based on the type of fare you have chosen to buy. Saver has the least choice, standard has more, and Flex has the most. HON/SEN can pick pretty much anywhere.
Sometimes thinking you're being more informed by EF is counterintuitive as there is nothing to be interpreted from 9B being blocked from your own bookings perspective.
There's immense disruption all over Europe not to mention the NOTAM for The Ukraine affecting Warsaw. Look out for canx, or just a very full flight with rebookings.

With saver though, can't you buy any seat in economy for a fee?

Little update now:
LOT have returned the seat 6A (my original seat!) back to economy. However, it's taken as of now. It's only a little thing but it's quite a joke honestly, should have made up their mind the first time.
