LH 744 Business vs UA 772 2-4-2?

Hi, I have options to modify award tickets to either LH 744 Business class or UA older 772 with 2-4-2. With UA, I could get 2 seats on row 6, so no rear facing seats in front of us. Which one is better? We just want a good rest on a trans-ATL flight, so seat comfort is tops.

Thank you in advance.

If two people travelling together, go for LH. I find the C seat to be very comfortable.

I'd try and go for the 744 upper deck.

6J/K are the best seats on that version of the 772, not bad if traveling as a couple. If it's 6A/B, beware, you may get bounced from 6B as that's a crew rest seat.

UA seats are IMO more comfortable than LH, and IMO the food is better as well, but overall LH is a better experience. More reliable (except for the strikes), more professional service, cleaner aircraft.

For a "good rest" your most important deciding factor here is probably flight timing.

In favour of UA, I also think the seats are more comfortable and the IFE is better (at least for non-German speakers). LH wins on much of the rest.

Seats and food are WAY better with UA!
If you go for comfort you jave to choose UA - the LH seats are much less comfortable!

I felt pretty squeezed on UA using this seat config. Would prefer LH and try to get seats on the upper deck. Small mini-cabin, typically pretty quiet.

How is seat 2A in the nose on the B744? I have an upcoming trip on the B744 both ways. Outbound I have the upper deck, and for the return I have the nose. Should I stick with the nose for the return or do you suggest I switch to the upper deck for both legs?

The nose is fine, had always been my preference on the 747. As I get most of the times 748 on my flights, the nose doesn't work anymore for me, as F is located there...
Window seat in the nose gives you maybe the feeling of a bit more space compared to a window seat on the upper deck, as the nose seat is less inclined to the side (at least based on my impression).
