Those LOT staff won’t know what’s about to hit them!

I read that FlyBosnia (a new airline based here in Sarajevo, they should be starting operations soon with a 319) are planning to fly to Warsaw (amongst other cities e.g. Riyadh, Frankfurt & Rome), here's hope that LOT will codeshare

Hopefully but it seems as a general rule, they don’t tend to codeshare with non-*A unless they have to.

As of April 1st, there will be an extra daily Vienna flight from Warsaw (departing WAW 12PM, returning from VIE at 2PM for a total of 6 daily flights between Warsaw & Vienna) whereas the mid-morning service to Amsterdam will no longer operate from the very same date.

Oh really, that's a valuable slot in a slot surely? What's happening to that then?

Came down from WAW yesterday and there were upwards of 20+ pax transferring *TO* ORD
in KRK. First time I'd seen the transfer section staffed.

Seatmap was not full on EF, 6 seats taken in C (could even have been staff) What desperation to be selling tix WAW-KRK-ORD to fill the 789?!

You mean LO263?
Too bad. It was a good backup option in case of a misconnect to the morning flight - though admittedly, very low chance of delay on morning flight from outstation to hub

The taxpayers have now sponsored a new deal between Lubusz Province and LOT "for promoting the Lubusz Province through aviation means" (14 million złoty for a year), so WAW-IEG-WAW will now fly 12 times a week (twice daily with some exceptions on weekends):

WAW-IEG: 7am, 8pm

IEG-WAW: 8am, 9pm

The WAW-IEG routes are often the cheapest I see on the LO network. Could be useful for those doing the Polish segment run for FTL.

Does that mean no IEG overnight?

Makes it much nicer for segment runs indeed.

Is there even a lounge at IEG airport? lot.com does not list any IMHO no lounge = no segment/mileage run

And if you want to visit the city during the layover (was there once by car - fairly nice) the airport is in the middle of nowhere some 36 kms north-east of the city.

No lounge. Airport is basically a shed.

There is this "VIP room", but it's open on-demand only and needs to be prebooked by phone/email and costs 100 PLN per person (not covered by your status nor booking class).

Keep in mind WAW is the only route from IEG and before the above-described extension, it had one arrival and one departure daily -- it makes no sense to have a proper lounge in such an airport.

The VIP room is for the local political class. They should build a dedicated wing on it, so they have proper Private Jet handling for the Polish political class who fly around Poland on BBJs.
